He has become a caricature, reviled globally, distrusted universally, and all he does is put forth false and hyperbolic claims in a desperate attempt to convey grandiosity while warding off increasingly frequent humiliations.
In fairness to him, he is a malignant narcissist, with deep underlying insecurities, progressive cognitive decline, a miniscule vocabulary, an inability to pivot, very little patience, below average intelligence, with a transactional sensibility requiring instant gratification, nobody he can fully trust, with an inability to admit imperfection or fault, with a lifetime of secrets and lies he must protect against exposure, and polls that are so underwater that they threaten turning everything he is, was, or claimed to be - into a collapsing House of Cards.

The Reflecting Pool incident is ANOTHER example of how Trump's BEHAVIORAL DISORDERS puts us all at risk.
The issue is NOT that the contractor screwed up, or that they falsely accused a person of a crime, or that they bombastically doubled down on TV, or that they had to recant the charges and admit the truth.
The issue IS that Trump is UNABLE to recant or admit fault on this - or anything - and that includes matters large OR small.
The media need to have psychologists on to explain the pathology at play. This nutcase is President, FFS. Let the experts speak!
Looking back, the Sharpie weather map incident was truly one of the first such missed opportunities to speak to his pathology. He doctored a map in black ink in plain view. He then sat there on TV, ranting. It was SO far out there, it should and could have been seen as concrete evidence of how uncontrollably dysfunctional he is. But again, they didn't let the experts speak!
Sharpie is an example of an incident where mental health pros could and should have been engaged on TV for opinion and expertise. Back then, ANYONE criticizing him for ANYTHING got retaliated against - and we - psychologists - really didn't care. Tons of colleagues were willing.
Think about what the Sharpie incident was. Trump made a gaffe that a normal person could have easily walked back. But again - like the recent reflecting pool incident - he has an inability to let ANYTHING go. Large OR small. It's a pathological disorder. It's NOT normal and shouldn't be normalized.
If he would arrest a person who picked up a piece of discarded refuse from a botched refurbishing of a vanity project to further a narrative, then of course he would disappear migrants who were living here peacefully in communities to empower his personal police force and lie about it to further another narrative. And lie about a war. And lie about tariffs. And how much something cost taxpayers. And cheat at golf.
When you let experts speak and explain about Trump's pathology, more can view him through that pathology, and then it becomes OBVIOUS to more Americans that he'd NEVER accept losing an election.

The Senate Judiciary Committee is scheduled to vote on Todd Blanche’s nomination to be Attorney General on July 30, at 9:00 am.

Judge Emmet Sullivan ordered Blanche to produce specific unredacted Jeffrey Epstein files and supporting materials to him for his review by 3 pm on July 30.

Blanche is currently breaking the law by not turning over Epstein files. Refusal to produce the material to Judge Sullivan would further compound Blanche‘s crimes.

The SJC should postpone their Thursday 9am vote. That will give them even more proof of Blanche committing crimes when he doesn’t deliver the material at 3 PM. The Senate cannot confirm Blanche when he’s in the middle of the act of breaking multiple laws.

I've studied abnormal psychology and human behavior for decades, and if you follow me, you know I have begun tweeting that - right now - there are Trump voters all across America - tons of them - tired of the negativity, bombast, lies, whininess, nonsensical riffs, incompetence, self-centeredness, divisiveness, and especially the corruption, the grift, and the broken promises, who want nothing more to do with him. Many cannot say it openly in their circle yet; but they feel it.
What they're feeling is called Cognitive Dissonance. It's a psychological conflict between their established views and the things they're perceiving.
Humans strive for internal consistency to function effectively in the world. When confronted with conflicting or dissonant information or actions, they experience stress, guilt, or shame, which drives them to resolve the dissonance.
How do they resolve the dissonance? Some will minimize it, some will rationalize it, and some will change behavior and - in this case - their world view. It takes a lot of discomfort to get people to change behavior. How many feel it? How many will change?
A recent stat from a WaPo article claims that 1 out of 5 Trump voters are at risk of either not voting in the midterms or voting Dem. This is the first time I've seen a quantified number on this, but it makes sense.
Another stat is that the % of voters who "strongly support" Trump has absolutely cratered - the last WaPo Ipsos poll has it at 15%.
Cognitive dissonance. Remember that term. I'm going to tweet about it a lot. It's out there, big time.
