@SBarrettBar Honestly, we should be the ones conducting surveillance on our own politicians whether online or offline to keep them in check. Their devices should have spywares to give us access to their devices, and we need to install cameras and mics inside all their cars.
@RealNicoLagan This is a blatant human rights violation. The UN declared that the general public's internet access and right to privacy are fundamental human rights. These rights should be absolute and unlimited tbh.
@RealNicoLagan They don't even explain why it makes internet safer and they don't provide evidence to prove that it really makes internet safer. Their "child safety" excuse is just an appeal to the emotions fallacy.
@TismTimeGG@AlyexAak They just don't care because they just want to police internet usage. If you noticed, no gov't officials provide explanation why age verification makes internet safer for children and they don't provide any evidence to prove it's safe and effective.
@DigitalEU@EURightsAgency Regulating internet usage and/or requiring people to show their identity first before using the internet doesn't promote child safety, it's just fascist.
@gnukeith They're desperate to impose censorship through mass surveillance, they already showed that they don't care what their citizens want and they don't care about public outrage when they passed the OSA despite the massive public outrage against it.
@theweb3jess@signalapp@depressivehacks 1. Improve moderation on the part of social media and online platforms
2. Be a good parent
Look at Keir Starmer, he can't even explain why forced identity checks make internet safer. There's also no evidence to prove that forced identity checks make internet safer.
@el_obisesan How are they gonna check for CSAM materials without scanning our device? We should all remember that while security and keeping children safe are very important, the public's right to privacy should never be sacrificed at all costs no matter what happens even for "safety".
@Keir_Starmer Why did you support age verification in the first place? That's undemocratic and it's not effective in making internet safer for children. If you're true to this post, then you will repeal the Online Safety Act.
@RealSchlep@peeka420 I think it would still happen soon even without the first AG lawsuit because the UK OSA set the trend towards new age verification systems.
@HelloItsVG I blame incompetent parents for having parenting skill issues, governments for wanting to implement fascism and Roblox for not improving moderation and never listening to the community and the UK gov't for their online safety act which started this trend.
