Every time, "Gen Z this, Gen Z that”
"Gen Z cannot relate to this” "Gen Z will never understand this” Bla bla bla
You guys forgot that the oldest Gen Z is 29 years old. We are not babies abeg
Fun fact: almost all these things you people post saying "Gen Z won't understand" we know them. We have experienced them
You just be feeling like Methuselah because you were born 5 years before us. Please rest, we're not that young
Dear career woman, please, when it is time to make a lifetime commitment, do not marry down.
If you want to enjoy both your career and your marriage, be careful about marrying a man you are significantly ahead of academically and financially.
As time goes on your career will grow. Your income will grow. Your exposure and responsibilities will grow. If your husband is unable to grow with you, that gap will eventually become a source of conflict in the marriage.
Do not make the mistake of thinking love alone will close that gap. You may live to regret it.
Choose a man whose ambition, capacity and mindset is greater than yours so you can always look up to him.
If you so desire to be an exception, then good luck to you.
Wallahi, this is not the government’s responsibility. Islamically, if you don’t have the financial means for marriage or the means to take care of a wife, then you have no business getting married. There are many acts of worship that a person is commanded to do (instead).
You bought beds and mattresses for the couples just for the pleasure of having sex, and then later you come and start talking about Almajiranci (street begging children) and out-of-school children. Wallahi, the North (Arewa) needs a massive reform/fixing.
Anyone who can’t stand on his own two feet financially, where does he expect to get the money to take care of a family?
Allah ya sauwaqe.
Apologising “just for peace to reign” is not a healthy way to resolve fight in relationship. An apology should only come from you when you’re wrong.
Partners who want you to apologise for peace to reign when you’ve done nothing wrong are manipulators.
Also apologising for peace to reign doesn’t you a bigger person, it only turn your partner to monster of entitlement.
How did Imam al-Bukhari (may Allah have mercy on him) die?
In the final years of his life, Imam al-Bukhari faced severe persecution from the rulers of several cities in the eastern Islamic world — particularly Nishapur, Bukhara, and Samarkand.
Some of the reasons were:
He refused to teach the sons of rulers in their palaces, saying:
“Knowledge is to be sought; it is not to be taken to the doors of kings.”
Some people envied his fame and noble reputation.
And there were other reasons as well.
When Imam al-Bukhari reached the age of 62, the ruler of Nishapur ordered him to leave the city, declaring him unwelcome.
So he departed and returned to his homeland, Bukhara.
The people of Bukhara came out to welcome him at the city gates, showering him with coins and sugar in joy. Students of knowledge and hadith scholars gathered around him until other scholars’ circles became empty — which stirred jealousy and resentment in some hearts.
Before long, the ruler of Bukhara also became angry with him. Letters came from the ruler of Nishapur demanding that Imam al-Bukhari be expelled from Bukhara as well.
One day, a messenger from the ruler came to his home and said: the order is that you must leave the city immediately — right now.
Imam al-Bukhari was not even given time to gather and organize his books. He left the city and stayed for three days in a tent on its outskirts, arranging his manuscripts, not knowing where to go next.
Then he set out toward Samarkand, but did not enter the city. Instead, he went to a nearby village called Khartank, where he stayed with some of his relatives. His student Ibrahim ibn Ma‘qil was accompanying him.
It wasn’t long before the soldiers of the ruler of Samarkand arrived with new orders — that Imam al-Bukhari must also leave that area and its villages.
It was the night of Eid al-Fitr.
The order was strict: he must leave now, not after Eid.
Fearing that his presence might cause trouble for his kind relatives, Imam al-Bukhari accepted the command.
Ibrahim ibn Ma‘qil loaded the Imam’s books onto one camel and prepared another for the Imam to ride.
As they walked, after about twenty steps, Imam al-Bukhari felt weak and said:
“Let us rest for a few moments; I feel tired.”
He sat down by the roadside and closed his eyes for a short while…
When Ibn Ma‘qil tried to wake him, he found that the soul of Imam al-Bukhari had returned to its Lord.
Indeed, to Allah we belong and to Him we shall return.
Thus, Imam Muhammad ibn Isma‘il al-Bukhari passed away on the night of Eid al-Fitr, the 1st of Shawwal, in the year 256 AH.
He was expelled from one city after another — yet today, every Muslim knows his name,
while the names of those rulers of Nishapur, Bukhara, and Samarkand are forgotten by history.
May Allah have mercy on Imam al-Bukhari and raise his rank among the Prophets, the martyrs, and the righteous.
