My "Roman Empire is the realization that my life is a lottery win. Somewhere in Sudan, Pålestine, iran, Afghanistan, Iraq or Congo, there is a boy smarter than me. He is more disciplined, more resilient, and holds more potential in his single finger than I do in my entire career.
The only difference? I am siting in a train and he is sting in the rubble of his dreams.
My "bad days" are his wildest dreams.
My "burnout" is a luxury he can't afford because his only job is staying alive.
It's geographical luck and it's a haunting injustice that we all refuse to acknowledge and look away
Linda was minutes away from the school where she taught a special education class when ICE agents rammed their vehicles into her car while chasing a US citizen.
They struck her car, and left her to bleed out without offering any type of first aid until the paramedics arrived.
Ms Shirley was an amazing and profound community advocate, what she did for the West Coast will never be forgotten. Her passing is really a profound loss for mutual aid. May she rest in power for real. 💐
Yup. He’s up to 11 pounds. They have to transfer him to another hospital for because the current hospital he’s at cannot meet his complex needs. The family is 100% responsible for the cost even tho the state forced them to keep that poor woman “alive” as a human incubator.
No news outlet is covering this, you know why? Because the fucking experiment on a black woman’s body has FAILED miserably. The only updates are from grandma’s go fund me. They let that woman die for a clump of cells (she was only 9 weeks pregnant at the time) that’s not even doing ok 6 months later. 6 months is a long time to be in nicu!
Adriana Smith is her name. I am so sorry the state did this to you. You were a 30 year old nurse with a kid who was already here who needed you. The state failed you, the very hospital that you worked at who was so supposed to help you failed you…everybody failed you.
Every video I see of Saleh I can tell he was a kind soul. Whether it was a baby or an animal, he was gentle with them. He survived 2 years of genocide with a smile on his face the entire time.
With deep sorrow, we bid farewell to the child Abdullah Abu Zarqa (5 years old), the boy whose heartbreaking cry "I am hungry" shook the world.
He passed away today in a hospital in Adana, Turkey, after his health deteriorated due to the severe shortage of medicines, tests, and medical equipment in Gaza. His passing came after a long struggle with illness, hunger, and delays in receiving proper treatment.
At this very moment, his sister Habiba lies in a hospital bed, fighting for her life after suffering from liver enlargement, blood poisoning, and severe malnutrition.
We urgently appeal to everyone to intervene and help save Habiba, by ensuring her immediate transfer to a specialized hospital in Turkey to receive the treatment she desperately needs-before it is too late.

I am confident that this genocide will stop, that we will be able to grieve and heal from this tragedy, and that change has begun. Yes, it has begun with the burning of our bodies, our cities, our homes, our memories, our past, and our future, but it has begun.
In the first photo.
🧵Today is one of the darkest days yet in modern journalism. I want to write a thread about the martyrdom of journalists Abu Hatab & Omar Zaino, who are among the 30+ people massacred at a café journalists used for its WiFi, and about Bayan Anu Sultan, who was badly wounded.
Seeing this as a Navajo, I can’t help but think of our people held in Hwééldi, a concentration camp like Gaza, & how we were starved.
But flour saved us. That’s where frybread comes from. It’s a symbol of our resilience. That’s why we make things out of our cloth flour bags.
