this is as opposed to eden, where you merely need to do eight years' worth of MMO content, and also most of the really gay shit is in an ultimate. what's an ultimate. don't worry about it
this game has a beautiful butch, and then blindsides you with ANOTHER beautiful butch, and then gives her the most toxic yuri, and then immediately after that flips it to the least toxic yuri, and also to see any of this you're doing a whole decade's worth of MMO content
hard to be excited about the possibilities when i know for a fact that i'm just going to see every penumbra-addled 15FPS white mage in the gathering coat for six months straight
anyways i don't have a meaningfully strong opinion on ffxiv cross-job glamour because, respectfully, most of you are so bad at the glamour options you already had that you had to resort to modding to reskin the same five pieces of gear over and over again
there was a really long stretch of time where, if you referred to palestine as a country on any form of news media--not even giving an opinion, just referring to it as a place that would exist on a map--you'd get punished and they would write a long-winded apology on your behalf
it is a little funny that of all the things, what finally gets asmongold shamed out of public view is something that, until about six months ago, was mandatory to believe in most entertainment industry circles if you didn't want to get blacklisted
times change fast
the desire to do new content week one, when nobody can spoil you & you're getting the most honest, fresh experience, playing with jobs designed for it specifically, is objectively a kind of FOMO, and it does result in people waking up at 2am when they wouldn't be otherwise
i am thankful i am still locked because then i can say the words "all live service games have a degree of inescapable FOMO you can't get rid of without removing the live service" and the number of people who will yell at me are minimal
the tradeoff for MMOs has always been how you'll be able to miss out on something, either through literal one-time events, toolkits that might not exist in the next patch, or content whose strats get set in stone over time, and how that drives you to play more. it is what it is
continuing my series of silently RTing exactly one zerowol artist and whistling innocently like i am not being shot with an irl gun every time i look at it
there was a point where the official account told people to keep the watermark in--you know, the one that's supposed to be there when you take a photo in vanilla--and the replies were from very angry people who i think didn't realize they were self reporting
sometimes i think about how i won several official ffxiv screenshot contests in a row exclusively off the fact that i was one of the few people to realize you need to turn all your shit off and take a shot with the in-game screenshot key
the screenshot they showed assumes six melee dps (melee-range towers have towers for 2 and towers for 1 that add up to six), that means six feints with 16s in duration
90 seconds of feint, feint has a cooldown of 90 seconds
it's real
