🧾 Job Summary

The Medical Officer will be responsible for providing comprehensive clinical care to patients living with sickle cell disease. The role involves diagnosis, treatment, follow-up care, patient education, and active participation in programs aimed at improving the quality of life of individuals affected by sickle cell disorder ❤️.

📌 Key Responsibilities

🩺 Conduct clinical assessments, diagnosis, and treatment of patients with sickle cell disease
🚑 Manage routine and emergency sickle cell–related complications
📋 Carry out patient follow-up, monitoring, and continuity of care
🗣️ Provide counseling and health education to patients and caregivers
🗂️ Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records and reports
🌍 Support screening programs, outreach activities, and advocacy initiatives
🤝 Work closely with multidisciplinary teams to ensure quality healthcare delivery
✅ Adhere to clinical guidelines, protocols, and organizational policies

🎓 Requirements and Qualifications

🎓 MBBS or equivalent medical degree
📜 Full registration with the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria (MDCN)
🪪 Valid practicing license
🧠 Clinical experience required; experience in sickle cell management is an added advantage
🗣️ Strong communication and interpersonal skills
🤝 Ability to work effectively within a team
❤️ Commitment to quality patient care and service delivery
