I found out why the EN FFXIV community has been so confused as to what the deal with The Echo vs The Blessing of Light is, and if they're both from Hydaelyn.
It's because the translation is absolute garbage, and they keep mixing them up in the EN.

Today on Japanese FFXIV: Will I fail to resist the urge to look at the garbage rewrite text for the DRK questline, or will I simply enjoy the excellent original and pretend the English does not exist? https://t.co/rOza5ZDU3f
We're doing more of the JP DRK quests today, and the EN version is a FULL ON rewrite. The JP is absolutely phenomenally written by Ishikawa, some of my favorite work of hers, and they just rewrote it.

This time on Japanese Dawntrail: It's not Dawntrail at all actually we're doing the Dark Knight job quests. I've been told that it is both incredibly peak and INCREDIBLY butchered in EN.

This time on Japanese Dawntrail: I was told we'd be going on a yeehaw cowboy adventure but I'm out here peering through time to watch two lizard peoples toxic relationship.

20 years ago Richard Mark Honeywood decided that she should rhyme for no apparent reason. They have kept to this decision ever since.
In the JP she's incredibly self-assured and "elegant" with sudden bursts of extremely violent language that she then catches herself on and rewords. In EN she's knockoff Gruntilda
This time on Japanese Dawntrail: It's actually Shantotto time. Watch and be amazed as her dialogue is actually good in the original! https://t.co/x0RGNMuONF
@NbdyImprtan Incorrect. Mark Honeywood changed it for zero reason because he thought it would be funny.
She's memorable and iconic in Japanese as well, Koji Fox is downplaying the original because he's an asshole.
This time on Japanese Dawntrail: The new expac title is awful (in English), Shantotto rhymes apparently in English because Koji Fox's mentor has some sort of brain damage, and I'm doing the Alliance Raid https://t.co/nUNiqa52Gz
This time on Japanese Dawntrail: This is just the actual real-life WWE, but Vince McMahon as a Lalafell is somehow a better person https://t.co/NMYOBYZt67
@OLaverly@PoltFan69 Nah it mostly is just because it makes it feel like an old SNES era RPG. The game also uses kanji in certain situations but the choice to have spoken dialogue be hiragana and katakana is stylistic rather than a tone change.
