@KaeruKanojo Well, a while ago, female VT were called men with voice changers in their mom’s basement. Then there were debates if it was true or not. Now because of the drama, just about every female VT can be held sus for some people and the conversation starts again but with more spice.
The Poison Man Was Never Real 🎃
Every Halloween, parents check every piece of candy. In the 1970s, the papers spread the fear of strangers poisoning treats, and only the sealed wrapper looked safe. But after decades of searching, sociologist Joel Best found no child killed by a stranger’s Halloween candy. The famous 1974 case in Texas? The boy was poisoned by his own father.

🚨Retart post incoming! 😂
Ok let’s look at it in a different way. I’ll use aircraft terms since I been around them my entire adult life.
The F-16 became operational in 1980. Does that mean it’s a 1980’s jet? No. It was the highest tech from the 1970s - first delivered tail number was 79-0420. That “79” was the year that funding was approved to produce that aircraft.
😂 420
Now, there were improvements and redesigns later and then it became cutting edge tech of that time, no longer 1970s. Those blocks and beyond of F-16 wouldn’t considered a 1970s jet anymore
But let’s cut back to Ranma 1/2. There was no redesign, or artistic updates in its original run - so… they style is from the 80s.
Is it a nitpick… sure, whatever. But I even said I knew what the dude was putting down.
If you want some real 90s anime - started in the 90s and has that 90s style: Slayers, Cowboy Bebop, Trigun, GTO.
Anime that was started in the 90s but has artistic changes throughout its life: Pokémon, One Piece, Detective Conan..
Fun F-16 fact: current block of F16 is the 70/72 F-16V. V is for Viper, a call out to the Colonial Viper starfighter from the 1970s tv show Battlestar Galactica.

A BIG FUCK YOU TO 2026.
The look of the original Ranma ½ only changed a little, because one studio and one character designer stayed for the whole run. Studio Deen animated everything from 1989 to 2008, and Atsuko Nakajima designed the characters throughout. The visible differences came from changes in directors and budgets, not from a redesign.
Now on the 90s, movies and OVAS these had more time and money, so they look more polished than the TV episodes. Junji Nishimura, she says the time the staff gets is the main difference between TV and OVA or film work, and that her goal was to "include my own style without destroying the manga's image."
So even though it came out in the 90s, still the style is 80s.
But what do I know, I’m just a retard on the internet…
