Lo diré una vez más:
Los nazis no llegaron tan lejos nunca, sentían vergüenza de lo que hacían en los crematorios y trataban de ocultarlo al mundo.
Los israelíes no.
They are so afraid of you realizing there are politicians who can and actually want to make your life better and not just collect checks from lobbyists and corporations.
Donald Trump, in 2016, questioned every piety and broke every rule (he questioned NATO's worth and even mocked John McCain's POW status), leading the political and media class to repeatedly pronounce his candidacy dead. But he won: because they never grasped how much people hate their elite class and therefore also hate their pieties and rules.
That anti-establishment hatred isn't the exclusive property of of Trump. In fact, Trump has utterly squandered it: there's basically no economic populism or foreign policy heterodoxy in Trump's second term, which has created a huge opening for the left to seize that mantle.
I get that if you're ensconced in DC think tank conferences or Morning Joe studios, it's Gospel that Claire Valdez's views on unions and health care and Israel are politically fatal nationwide. They're not: no more than Trump's "transgressions" were. The most potent political force by far -- not just in US politics but in the democratic world -- is hatred of establishment politics, and that has rendered almost all of the old rules entirely obsolete.
DC Democratic politicians can't embrace this kind of anti-establishment populism -- by far their most potent weapon -- because they're enslaved to a donor class that won't allow it. But their own voters are forcing it on them. Zohran's win by itself should have demonstrated all of this, but for those who didn't see it then or didn't want to, it should be extremely clear now.
This clip explains the entire American economy in 76 seconds:
- Steve Martin is the middle class
- Martin Short is the working class
- Chevy Chase is the billionaire class
Hasan Piker: “Donald Trump literally made it illegal to be trans and an athlete in the NCAA. Did you experience any fucking material improvements in your life? No, of course you didn’t. Is that fixing the fucking gas prices? Giving Israel more money, is that going to fix your gas prices? We’ve been giving Israel $10B a fucking year. Have things gotten better in that process? Has ICE improved your lives? Elon Musk is a fucking trillionaire. Did it do anything for you that’s positive? No, of course not”
Do you remember 'All Eyes on Rafah'?
This is what Rafah looks like now, 2 years later. The IDF invaded Rafah in June 2024 and systematically destroyed everything that sustained life.
"Israel" is incompatible with humanity.
Ta-Nehisi Coates: “I don’t know how you remain consistent by claiming an anti-apartheid legacy here in the United States of America while enforcing it abroad.”
Coates told Chris Hayes that the Democratic Party cannot continue avoiding the issue of Gaza and Palestine, saying the party is already facing a political and moral reckoning ahead of 2028.
