@PlayStation Longest gap between posts. Biggest gaming announcement in decades. No response, no acknowledgement, no corporate spiel.
Radio silence.
And then - a fight stick....
The audacity to announce a physical product after declaring the end of physical games.
@blurrybonez@popsbabyiv@waynocunt@TheTrueSealYT@dlozanovic@PlayStation The SC proposal will remove purchased movies from your library. That is unethical.
The "choice" by Sony was to agree a licensing model such that customer purchases can be revoked when that license between SC ends.
Gog "licenses" allow you to retain access, regardless.
@blurrybonez@popsbabyiv@waynocunt@TheTrueSealYT@dlozanovic@PlayStation Let me clarify, as I evidently mistyped.
Other providers have shown a licensing model that permits customers to download the digital assets and access them in perpetuity.
I'll go to gog: you download the game files, delete gog, you keep playing. Sony's choice: not do that.
@blurrybonez@popsbabyiv@waynocunt@TheTrueSealYT@dlozanovic@PlayStation It was their choice to entertain a license-based model for digital sales. Those movies were affected by a clause in an agreement signed by them.
Take https://t.co/13wiYbegP6 as an example: buy a game, you have the files. That's it. Gog made publishers agree to that when listing.
@Canadian_South@StopKilingGames@PlayStation Gog...
Buy the game, download the game, delete gog, turn off internet, you can play that game - and share it with friends forever.
You own it.
@PulseAttacks@AncientArgonaut@digitalfoundry Calm down.
They go where the profits are. There's a difference between consumer led choices and investor led.
This will make them money: more digital revenue, much greater cut of sales (no secondary markets), likely higher dlc purchases.
That's it.
Flip the script on marketing! Instead of '10 tips to increase profits,' try '10 mistakes killing your profits.' Negatives attract! Watch those clicks soar.
I'm seeing an growing number of SaaS companies use a 'cost per day' breakdown when promoting their product to create a sense of affordability.
For example, "just $1 a day".
So that's $30 per month...
