Three months ago I reported that ECB chief Christine Lagarde had personally intervened in Binanceโs MiCA license approval in Greece.
Lo and behold, the Wall Street Journal confirms what my source told me.
The Anthropic/OpenAI/Google scheme to have government regulate them follows a pattern. Every major new industry has done this: pharmaceuticals, meat, banking, finance, agriculture, software, social media, crypto. It's a conventional cartelization scheme and the dominant economic form of the last 150 years.
This is the model: The unions help the government create economic chaos that forces companies to downsize or close, and then think all they need to do is "call upon" those same companies to pretend like none of it happened.
Real economic education is severely lacking in SA.
๐ด COURT VICTORY: Sakeliga defeats BEE licensing in the Property Sector.
The Pretoria High Court ruled it unconstitutional to require estate agencies and other property businesses to have BEE certificates to operate.
Here's the story ๐งต
This is nonsense.
Humanity isnโt going to die off because the planet is 1.5ยฐC warmer than it was a century and a half ago (most of that being in higher latitudes where relatively few people live).
No science supports this claim, not even the IPCC reports.
Do United Nations officials not read their own reports?
@CNN You guys are pathetic. They had plenty of money but spent it on โnature-based solutionsโ and gender workshops rather than the sensors and sirens. Youโre not journalists youโre propagandists.
You miserable grifters. It was a landslide. There is zero evidence climate change played any role whatsoever. And Nepal could have used the billions USAID & the UN gave it to install cheap sensors and sirens but held โgender inclusionโ workshops instead.

AfriForum has demanded an independent audit of the fuel price and associated levies from the Minister of Finance.
AfriForum has also reiterated its call for a permanent reduction in the fuel levy, functioning as much needed tax relief for the overburdened taxpayers of South Africa. At the very least a reinstatement of the previous levy cut is necessary while oil prices and geopolitical risk remain high.

Solidarity will thoroughly investigate reports that Amazon, the US technology giant, is excluding businesses from a business development programme in South Africa based on the race of their owners.
Amazon Web Servicesโ (AWS) Equity Equivalent Investment Programme (EEIP) explicitly requires participating businesses to be 100% black-owned. This means that a business is excluded from the programme if even one of its shareholders is white.
AWS describes the programme as part of its efforts to promote โdiversity and inclusionโ. Solidarity, however, believes there is nothing diverse or inclusive about a programme where an ownerโs race determines whether their business has access to economic opportunities.

No, it can't. The problem of socialist calculation is the absence of property rights, as Mises explained, not knowledge, as Hayek put it. Without property rights, there is no possibility of calculating profit/loss with real opportunity costs for an actual owner who reaps the benefits of correct plans and suffers the consequences of wrong plans. Hayek's fluffy talk about knowledge is nice and catchy, but ultimately unrigorous, imprecise, and confusing. No matter how much knowledge you give to a computer, it cannot perform economic calculation on capital that is not owned, whose loss doesn't cost anyone anything and whose success doesn't provide profits to anyone. Socialists have been getting overexcited about every single advance in computer technology for a century, thinking it will finally provide them the tools to defeat Hayek, but the only thing that ever worked for them is private property, in other words, moving away from socialism. The only way to make socialism work is to kneel before Mises and allow property rights and let property owners perform economic socialism. In other words, the only way to make socialism work is to stop it from being socialist. The issue is not about the size of knowledge. This is why Amazon can successfully plan for hundreds of millions of workers, suppliers, and customers, but socialism fails in a tiny country like Estonia. Amazon, and everyone involved with it, have property rights and can perform economic calculation. A minister in socialist tiny Estonia has no property rights and so cannot perform economic calculation.
Hayek may be nice to read in the early phase of your learning economics and recovering from Marxist, Keynesian, and Friedmanite nonsense, but he is no substitute for the real deal: Mises, Rothbard, and Hoppe.
I discuss this in detail in my Principles of Economics, and you can see the full lecture based on the chapter on https://t.co/nmpkx2G9dn
BREAKING: AfriForum and March and March held a comprehensive meeting to discuss community-based solutions for security, education, upliftment, and more.
The two organisations found common ground in a shared mission to build stronger, more resilient, and self-sufficient communities, as well as in a shared support for strong border security, the rule of law, and mother tongue education.
Commonality was also found in a shared experience of being relentlessly lied about and attacked by those who don't want South Africans to embrace alternative routes to bring about change outside of party politics.
AfriForum welcomes a future where more organisations emulate our alternative, state-proof model. We will continue to engage constructively with any such organisations through mutual recognition, respect, and cooperation ๐ถ๏ธ

@Devon_Eriksen_ I understood his tweet as a reference the religion of Atheism (atheism movement), not atheism conceptually, just like we have the religion of science (Scienceโข) as opposed to the the the discipline of science. And I agree with Bret based on that assumed framing.
What was Woke? A megathread documenting the most deranged era of our time ๐งต๐งต๐งต
When AOC declared woke over and dismissively laughed that "Woke 1 was crazzzy", she was sending a calculated signal to the Leftist rank & file that "Woke" was now more of a political liability than a help and it was time to pivot from "its not happening" to "ok it was happening but it wasnt that bad, can we just move on now?"
The online hordes clearly understood the assignment, as the online space is full of ppl either dismissing Woke as "just some online kooks " and pretending not to understand what Woke even was (thus making discourse impossible).
They will adopt a "gotcha" strategy where they will demand to know on the spot exactly what was so bad about Woke and when you dont have an itemized list in bullet points at the ready, will dismiss your entire argument that Woke was bad.
So here I'm creating a thread so you can all bookmark it and use it anytime says "Woke wasnt that big a deal", "it was just online kooks", or "it was just about having empathy and being kind".
You will notice not one of the examples in this thread are "online kooks". Almost every single one is a major media company. Despite the catastrophic reputational loss of the last two decades, these companies are still very powerful and influential, and since most of the public still mindlessly outsources their thinking to the media, they play a key role in shaping public opinion. Keep that in mind as you read some to the deranged things these psychopaths were pushing on us.
If in the future, someone wants to study how, when and why the mainstream media pivoted from Neutral Arbiter of Truth to Culture Warrior, Narrative Shaper and Social Engineer, this thread would be a valuable resource.
So without further ado, what IS Woke?
@gazza_jenks Paolo should start a new high trust auditing firm. Obviously you cant audit yourself, but they like doing things in new ways, and independent auditors are hugely valuable if they can be trusted.
@gazza_jenks I see your BIP-110 bros are dead fucking quiet. Sucks when the market doesn't do what you want it to huh? Seems the system works.
Nice article.
