Tommy Tuberville will open the floodgates to data centers and justify it with one of his bizarre conspiracy theories. Not me. We need to slow things down and put some guardrails up to protect our communities.
Like so many in this country and around the world, I was shocked and saddened by the death of my friend and former colleague Lindsey Graham. Lindsey was often a man of many contradictions but at his core he was a fierce patriot; not just a defender, but a promoter, of democracy. We disagreed on many things, but we shared that love of country and a belief that America must play the leading role on the world stage. It was fitting that his final trip was to Ukraine, fighting for a cause we both believed in. Behind the public persona, Lindsey Graham was a pragmatic public servant who could work across the aisle to get things done.
Louise and I send our prayers and condolences to his family.
Thank you Colbert County! An amazing turnout for our town hall last night in Sheffield. Great crowd, great questions, great dialogue. And thanks to IBEW local 558 for hosting us. This is what campaign momentum looks like. Next up: Dothan. Hope to see just as many folks in the Wiregrass as the Shoals.
In 1965, an Alabama State Trooper shot and killed Jimmie Lee Jackson during a protest in Marion, AL. He was unarmed and the protesters were peaceful. His death led to the Selma to Montgomery march for voting rights and ultimately the passage of the 1965 Voting Rights Act. 61 years later Alabama continues to be ground zero for voting rights in America. Last week, I had the honor of being with Jimmie Lee’s sister Emma to thank her and her family for their sacrifice.
Happy 250th Independence Day everyone! We hope you enjoy the day, but will also take the time to celebrate all that we have to be thankful for in this great country and to recommit yourself to doing your part to the continuing effort to form a more perfect union and to continue to make America the beacon of hope and freedom for the rest of the world.
Thankfully the Supreme Court upheld birthright citizenship but it was closer than expected. Sadly Justice Kavanaugh’s concurrence may create more chaos and division.
Mikhail Torrance was one of the best that Mobile has ever had to offer. A standout basketball player for the University of Alabama and an even better person. His legacy will live on through his family and the countless individuals he inspired and impacted.
Mikhail, you made our city proud.
Once again Tommy Tuberville votes against folks in Alabama, this time voting no on an overwhelmingly bipartisan bill to create affordable housing. This man is no public servant.
Happy Father’s Day to all the dads out there! My dad taught me so much in the 65 years that I was privileged to be his son and I have done my best to pass all of it along to my kids. That folks is the legacies our father’s leave us.
Now that this residency witch-hunt is behind us, it’s time for Doug Jones to come out of his hole and start talking about the issues.
In 2020, I ran against a liberal Doug Jones, but he has since fallen deep into the socialist, marxist mind virus taking over half of our country.
I look forward to beating Doug Jones (again) and being elected as Alabama’s next Governor.
A loss such as this is truly devastating. It is clear that Weston had such a bright future ahead of him, and Louise and I are heartbroken for the Higginbotham family. We are keeping them in our prayers as they go through the difficult days ahead. https://t.co/sCb7FMI0pO
With the help of the Supreme Court continuing to show their partisan colors, Alabama has officially re-joined the Old Confederacy. But make no mistake, we intend to build a better Alabama where everyone has a seat at the table.
With our primary win last week our campaign for governor moved into a new phase, but the vision remains the same: I am running for governor for every Alabamian with a team of talented and dedicated folks that will work every day to make your lives better.
We have a lot of momentum after last week’s primary victory. We can win again this fall folks, just like my friend Gov. Andy Beshear wins in Kentucky. Thanks Andy, for believing in what we are building in Alabama. Oh, and remember - we’ve won statewide in Alabama before!
A federal court took the first step today in restoring order and fairness to Alabama’s congressional maps. But this fight is not over by any stretch so we have have to continue to make our voices heard.
Even in these chaotic and uncertain times, I hope everyone takes a moment today, Memorial Day 2026, to reflect on why we set aside this one day: to honor the courage and commitment of those who made the ultimate sacrifice defending the freedoms and liberties that we all cherish. And in so doing let’s also rededicate ourselves to doing our part in efforts to form a more perfect union.
So maybe “Coach” doesn’t know what Memorial Day is and would rather give criminals who beat police and attacked the US Capitol a billion dollars of your hard earned money. Most might say this is unbelievable, but then again most should know where his loyalties really lie - and it is not with the people of Alabama.
