Lovely to be playing live again at #Blasto and airing a couple of brand new songs.
Great to hear @FaraOrkney too, still fiddling like fury!
Wonderful night of music for a fantastic audience. #houseconcerts

Been great fun recording this series of the podcast. Amazing to be able to go back and look at some of the sources for these great old songs, some of which were being sung and played (and sometimes written down) before Bach and Handel had written their great works.

The penultimate episode in series 2 of our podcast #TheScottishSongGuide is out now, looking at the story(-ies) behind Jock O Hazeldean. Bribery, border crossings, #WalterScott, a shop in the West Port and a 375 year-old tune... it has it all!

A throwback to a special @acoustic_ed show and a song taken from the album #IntoYourHead.
The #AcousticEdinburgh nights were great, brilliantly run by @paulgilbody & @SimonKirby. A real community & through these gigs I met many of my favourite people!

The podcast is back on #Podbean, my player of choice!
Available just about everywhere else too, so if you're interested in the origins of Scottish songs check it out.
#TheScottishSongGuide is back on #Podbean, for those of you who use that for your podcasts.
Tune in to the latest episode - on #LochLomond - to hear all about the song's origins, the alternative words and Ella Fitzgerald's flirtation with Scottish songs!

Just noticed that George Michael does some of the worst pretend guitar-playing ever captured on film in the video for "Faith". Still a great song though.

Love this version by Simon & Garfunkel!

The latest episode of #TheScottishSongGuide finds us looking at Bonnie Lass of Fyvie. We talk a bit about the American versions including this one by Simon&Garfunkel. Check out that sinister last verse about 2mins in, delivered in such angelic tones too!

The new episode of our #TheScottishSongGuide podcast dropped yesterday, and this week we've been looking at Dumbarton's Drums. A 300 year trip taking in Allan Ramsay, Francis Barsanti, Jean Redpath and yes, American Beers...

The first episode in our brand new series of #TheScottishSongGuide is available, and in it we're talking about a song originally entitled "Charlie", now better known as Cam Ye By Atholl - a pretty good effort from a shepherd and a doctor...

It's #BandcampFriday! That means if you buy any digital music from @Bandcamp today, they don't take a commission, so more goes to the artist.
