The province’s Special Investigations Unit (SIU) has invoked its mandate following a collision involving a police vehicle north of Wingham in the Municipality of Morris-Turnberry.
On February 17, 2025, at approximately 1:20 p.m., an officer from the Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Detachment was assisting a motorist on London Road near Glennanon Road when a plow vehicle collided with the police vehicle and a stopped motorized snow vehicle. Two people were transported to hospital. The officer was not injured.
The OPP West Region Traffic Incident Management and Enforcement (TIME) Team is currently on scene continuing to investigate. London Road is closed north of Wingham and will remain closed for several hours.
The OPP has notified the SIU, which has invoked its mandate. As a result, the OPP will not be able to provide further information. Any other inquiries should be directed to [email protected]. #HuronOPP #huroncounty @morristurnberry #OPP ^cs.
