Brian Cole Jr.: The Cold Hard Reality of His Alleged "Confession"

Brian Cole Jr. is an autistic individual who, according to his grandmother, has the mind of a 16-year-old. He was arrested while away from his family, which denied him their counsel. In his daily life, Cole always carries some sort of audio device to cover his ears, whether that be earbuds or headphones. Indeed, even when he was arrested, he was wearing headphones, seen clearly in his mug shot. Deprived of counsel from his family, Cole waived his Miranda rights and allowed himself to be interviewed by the FBI.

After 2 hours of denying any involvement, the interviewing agent asked Cole if he wanted to continue. Cole responded that...
1. "Everything is just blank."
2. "A little too much to process."

Despite this plea, and the clear indication that Cole was not able to process this line of questioning, the interviewing agent plowed forward. The agent showed Cole a black-and-white image taken from security footage of the J6 Pipe Bomber. The image was of an unidentifiable person in a white/gray hoodie walking along an unrecognizable sidewalk.

The agent asked Cole if he recognized the video, and if he was the person in the video. Cole stated that he was not the person in the photo, and that he did not recognize the video. The agent then threatened that "lying to them was an additional criminal offense" and asked Cole if he was the person in the photo — a photo he had just said he did not recognize.

After this question, Cole, an autistic person with the mind of a 16-year-old, who had just previously stated that his ability to answer questions was coming up blank and that he could not process the questions he was being asked, paused for 15 seconds, placed his head on the table, and said "yes."

The prosecution claims that this was a confession, yet no confession is quoted. In reality, Cole was asked if he was the person in a photo he did not recognize. He was then threatened with a criminal offense over something he could neither process nor answer. That's why his head goes on the table — he is in distress.

They abducted an autistic "kid" with sensory triggers away from family counsel and then subjected him to 2 hours of questioning which he already could not process, then they threatened him to give the answer they wanted to hear.

This is not a confession. This is cold hard abuse!!!
