Five psalms for five moments:
Psalm 23: You feel completely alone.
Psalm 46: Everything is falling apart.
Psalm 73: You're struggling with envy.
Psalm 103: You've forgotten how loved you are.
Psalm 139: You wonder if God really knows you.
This is good stuff from Secretary Rubio. The Founders never wanted a state church and desired religious liberty and right of conscience. But they grounded their ideas of liberty, human rights and dignity in Christianity. They understood that without a thick layer of virtue, religion, and arguably Christianity, liberty becomes license. I get the sense that a lot of Christian parents are fairly content to raise their kids very similarly to how unbelievers raise their kids, giving them the same type of education, doing virtually all of the same activities, enjoying pretty much all of the same entertainment, sharing very similar daily schedules and long-term goals for their future, and the only real difference is that they do all of this while being really “nice” people who believe in Jesus.
But surely, knowing the Lord of the Universe will have a more dramatic effect on our lives than that.
The most foolish people in the world are the ones who never stop to think about the fact that they are going to die. They don’t draw lessons from funerals. They avoid them. They never learn from the suffering and grief of others. They keep aloof from that messiness. And they really never come to grips with the fact that no one is really ready to live unless they are ready to die.

Five things every Christian should have:
1. A Bible that they actually read
2. A church where they are active
3. A heart that is quick to repent
4. A desire to tell others about Jesus
5. A life of frequent prayer
The world says:
Affirm sexual immorality
Celebrate sexual immorality
Excuse sexual immorality
Justify sexual immorality
Defend sexual immorality
Overlook sexual immorality
Normalize sexual immorality
The Bible says:
“FLEE sexual immorality!”
-1 Corinthians 6:18
Trust the Bible!
5 Reasons to Go to Church:
1. Worship God with Others: your faith wasn’t meant to be solo.
2. Hear Truth: you need Scripture, not just opinions.
3. Find Real Community: people who know you and grow with you.
4. Grow Spiritually: not just informed, but transformed.
5. Be Sent Out: church equips you for what God calls you to, not to run from it.
Be the Church. Go to church.
The Pharisees read their Bibles.
The Pharisees prayed.
The Pharisees fasted.
The Pharisees went to the temple.
Yet their hearts were far from God.
Habits don't bring you to heaven, a relationship with Jesus does.
My first pastor used to say, "If you ever find a perfect church, don't join it because you'll be the one to mess it up."
Church isn't perfect, because people aren't perfect.
The church is the perfect place for imperfect people to worship the perfect Savior!
Some exaggeration about the age of marriage, but just read the Little House on the Prairie series to see how mature young people were back then -- how many adult skills they had mastered.
Paige Rogers is a sophomore at a Christian college in Kentucky who was fired from her job at a local coffee shop because she answered questions from two coworkers about her beliefs. They asked Paige about her beliefs on marriage, sexuality, and other topics. She answered honestly and respectfully, and a week later received a text saying that her employment was being terminated immediately because she had violated policies about workplace conduct. Ridiculous. Paige is right—no one should be fired for respectfully sharing their religious viewpoints—especially when asked. Would you pray for Paige and share an encouraging word in the comments below? https://t.co/9ysR7n4myx
