‘HINDI TAYO NAGBABAKASAKALI LANG’
Akbayan Rep. and House prosecutor Chel Diokno provided full context for his remarks on the alleged "fishing expedition" during the impeachment trial of Vice President Sara Duterte. Diokno represented the House prosecution panel during the oral arguments on the request to subpoena Duterte's financial records, which the Senate impeachment court granted.
His statement came after Akbayan Party-list called out Senator-Judge Pia Cayetano for sharing a "spliced" video clip of Diokno's exchange with Senator-Judge Alan Peter Cayetano during the trial. The post carried the caption: "Nagbabakasakali lang?
Akbayan stated. #VPonTrial

Stonehill vs. Diokno, ano yun?
Anong say ninyo rito? Mag-comment lang kayo at mag-follow for more updates sa impeachment.
🚨 Sen. Kiko Pangilinan correctly points out that having a high trust rating does not mean BP Sara cannot be impeached.
I would argue further that the higher the trust rating, the greater the betrayal of public trust and greater the need to impeach.
👊

Sabi nga sa Jollibee, “willing to wait.” #PambamsangMulto
Confidentiality cannot trump accountability. Sang-ayon ba kayo?
The Cayetanos really cannot hide where they stand on this case no matter how hard they try to tone down their condescension and arrogrance.
So much for trying. They are both acting like lead counsels for the defense.
It’s a MIRACLE! Naka wheel chair pumasok, brisk walk lumabas.
Kudos to UP-PGH for putting professionalism and integrity above all other considerations in submitting their medical report to the Sandiganbayan.
Honestly, at this point, you have to wonder if some people are suffering from brainrot or if they are genuinely confused by applying what Atty. Ligutan said to absolutely everything in life.
When the Supreme Court ruled in People v. Lastimosa (2025) under Rule 130, Section 4 that a photocopy is admissible to the same extent as an original, they were talking about admissibility of evidence in a court of law.
This means a judge can accept a faithful duplicate to prove what a document says.
It does not mean a xerox copy of a 1,000-peso bill is now legal tender, or that a photocopied passport will pass airport immigration!
This is the DDS trying to insult a brilliant lawyer to save face because their legal team got absolutely demolished in open court in front of millions of Filipinos.
The law dragged us into the 21st century to streamline trials; it didn't give everyone a license to forge IDs.
Please try to understand the context and stop the literal, brain-dead interpretations!
Budlay gid intiendihon haw? Or namian lang gid kamo ya mag minango?
Several posts are circulating online questioning the prosecution’s use of photocopies during the second day of Vice President Sara Duterte’s impeachment trial. These posts lack context.
The Supreme Court, in a 2025 ruling, already said that photocopies of both paper-based and electronic documents are admissible as evidence in court, citing Rule 130, Section 4(c) of the 2019 Revised Rules on Evidence, which took effect in 2020. The rule says a duplicate is admissible as the original if there are no genuine questions about the original’s authenticity, or if it would be considered unfair to use the duplicate.
