What is MPT? Marginal productivity theory states that given the price of labor(w) and capital(r), firms will keep employing more of these factors until their marginal productivities(how productive each additional unit is) are equal to these prices 🧵
Regarding philosophy: Theism can be plausibly backed. Backing any specific religion typically requires some special epistemology(ex: reformed epistemology, phenom conservatism) and at most those only provide justification for the BELIEVER, not for those outside the religion
Strauss was spot on. Religion lost social prestige because it was subjected to ridicule, satire, mockery, and cultural pressure rather than being decisively refuted philosophically.
This is a problem because if rational engagement can’t be demonstrated to converge towards 1 true religion, which this seems to show, then that makes your current religion contingent on luck, not rationality, which defeats the belief of religious exclusivism in particular.
@austrosillyism And tbf evaluation and choosing which techniques are best is trivial in the social surplus approach to value and distribution, which is what Marxists believe in anyways. That’s really where ECP should focus on, differences in theories of economic coordination.
@austrosillyism Polterovich >>> Kantorovich. Demonstrated the existence and stability of a GE with centralized coalitions in place of individual firms, among other things. https://t.co/9JPvBI7B1v
@felidqe Conditional probability isn’t hard to understand. TLDR; Muslims can’t claim being a woman has nothing to do with this ratio of people in hell because you wouldn’t be observing an uneven ratio if that was the case.
From a probability perspective, if being a woman(W) or any of the traits correlating with W doesn’t factor in your placement into hell(H), and only other factors(X) do, Then we should observe P(H | W, X) = P(H | ~W, X) = P(H | X). This doesn’t seem to be the case here though.
Of course this assumes X and W don’t correlate with each other, if you assume that they do then you also end up proving the accusation correct. It’s misogynist to assume women innately exhibit X differently than men.
Maternal deaths in Afghanistan could rise by 50% this year.
After the Taliban's ban on contraception, women are being forced to give birth without doctors, miscarrying without treatment, and losing access to even basic medicine.
