World Cup hosts are guaranteed a bid. If we did the thing the British do and sent soccer teams for each state instead of the country, here’s what the 2026 48-team World Cup field might have looked like.
Oh my god, there’s actually a chance. Back up the truck for Showtime Kyle. Literally no downside to a 1 year deal. Kaner can keep this team afloat while Bedard is out and then the two can cook together when he returns. This team desperately needs another weapon in the top 6, 88 is our best option at this point #Blackhawks
Give kaner the c for a year or 2 before he retires and bring him home.
Season tickets skyrocket
Locker room vibes go up 100%
Guys get real leadership from a guy who has done it all.
No brainer @NHLBlackhawks
Concacaf and CONMEBOL are exploring a merger against the backdrop of a possible expansion to 64 teams for the 2030 World Cup.
What could a Pan-American 2030 qualification tournament look like?
There are 45 World Cup-eligible nations between the two confederations.
9 groups of 5 teams, in a UEFA-type tournament, makes a lot of sense. Here's what the seeding would look like based on the current FIFA rankings.
Pot 1 teams include: Argentina, Brazil, Colombia, Mexico, Uruguay, United States, Ecuador, Canada, and Panama. 5 from CONMEBOL and 5 from CONCACAF
Pot 2 teams include Paraguay, Venezuela, Chile, Peru, Costa Rica, Honduras, Jamaica, Bolivia, and Curacao. again 5 from CONMEBOL and 5 from CONCACAF.
The remaining 27 teams are all from CONCACAF.
A change to MLS I would advocate for that will piss people off, but I think would be a huge win for the league and long-term USA player development. Add a 4th DP spot exclusively for USMNT eligible players. This would incentivize spending on American talent.
#THFC have had a current player win the World Cup in the last TWO tournaments:
2018: Hugo Lloris 🇫🇷
2022: Cristian Romero 🇦🇷
If either Spain, England, or Argentina win this year’s tournament, Tottenham would become the FIRST EVER Premier League team to have 3 consecutive World Cup winners! 👏🏆
So the chip in the ball detected the Croatian player’s hair vs Portugal but it didn’t work when the ball hit the freaken cable of the camera to favor England?
We gave MLS exactly what they wanted once. All the USMNT stars in Europe took an early retirement to MLS during their primes, every USMNT player was in MLS or Liga MX. They axed a foreign coach and replaced him with a member of the old boys club straight out of MLS. We got this
I know we're all very upset about them going out without even a whimper, but I'll be damned if the six games from Senegal to Bosnia wasn't most fun I've had watching this team in forever.
Now, please, go out and capitalize on this momentum
