My student just lost a N2 Million Naira per month job yesterday because of this so pay attention

How did this happen?

He got a full time remote job with an international client, then it was time for Due diligence they asked for his ID, he gave them his NIN

Lo and behold they came back to tell him his NIN was suspended, no way to explain to them, the job just went like that due to Nigerian Anyhowness

He is not the first person this is happening to that I know of

I also have 2 ladies who after trying to land jobs got their first gigs on UPWORK only for them to do verification and realize their NIN had been compromised

They both got suspended (we are still trying to rebuild)

WHAT SHOULD YOU DO?

I have always warned that International Passport is your best form of identification of you are serious about freelancing, I also understand Nigeria, clients won’t

1. So if you don’t have your international passport, try in every way to get it

And if you don’t and still use your NIN 👇🏽

2. Scan the barcode to check and confirm that yours isn’t compromised. Don’t get a gig before you realize

If anything is wrong with it you can solve it fast

I don’t want another hard working person to lose a job or source of livelihood for a reason they couldn’t control

Share this with every freelancer you know so they can be careful and not lose gigs
