If we close public schools for over a year, don’t offer a clear plan for opening even after teacher vaccinations, belittle parents who can’t manage, then we shouldn’t be surprised that folks are ready to talk about charter schools and vouchers.
@DanMaloit@GovofCO watch as other governors issue executive orders to their districts to open 5 days per week for full time in person. What are you doing for Colorado children??
@rpvanostrand I’m a HVAC tech, I go into 100’s of homes every month including teachers. Haven’t had any of them refuse service when their furnace wasn’t working... but they can’t do their own job? Kids are suffering because of their selfish behavior
This pandemic may have effected our children’s education only by one year, but the psychological trauma we have placed on them may take upwards of 5 years to recover, if we’re lucky. For some (and likely the most vulnerable) effects may be permanent.
Very Important Study!
If vaccinated folks don’t transmit, there is no rationale for vaccinated teachers to refuse to be in the classroom.
Note that this was an expected outcome. Still, one to cheer and share!
THREAD: I've seen the "there's no learning loss b/c learning standards are arbitrary & pushed by testing companies" bit come up again recently, so I wanted to reiterate:
It's possible for learning standards to be arbitrary AND for there to be real learning loss.
Let me explain.
