Heartbreaking reflections from a parent whose children attend a recently targeted school—
“They felt anxious and so did I. I held their hand more tightly than usual at drop-off, and told them there are many people working very hard to keep them safe.” - Dr. Mohammad Zubairi, pediatrician and associate professor at McMaster University.

This is upsetting because students and parents who work hard, contribute to the GDP are struggling to pay university tuition because OSAP is so drastically cut back. OSAP creates access to higher education for many. Hold the fraudsters accountable. Don’t punish students #onpoli
I called out the Israeli government’s targeting of Palestinian academic, artistic, intellectual and literary leaders almost two years ago.
These are not Hamas militants. They are civilian, community leaders.
This is clear cultural genocide.
Ford's scandal of the day:
David Piccini, then Ford's Minister of Labour, attended the Paris wedding of a lobbyist for Keel Digital Solutions.
Piccini then grants $7.5 million taxpayer dollars to KDS through the Skills Development Fund.
Now the Ford government is suing KDS for "defrauding the province"
➡️& KDS is going bankrupt
➡️& Ford has promoted Piccini to the Ministry of Infrastructure where he is in charge of billions of taxpayer dollars.

500% increase in OSAP applications from registrants at one career college triggered investigation finding strong evidence it was part of an OSAP scam with fake students
But in Fordland, the college is still open. OSAP got cut for everybody else

Essential reading by Dr. Iris Gorfinkel how the Ontario government bet on profiteer medicine but how it predictably failed. Conservative governments across the nation are a threat to the public's health. They dismiss the basic needs of average Canadians.

Ford government underfunding has cut the following positions from Ontario hospitals. It's insanity:
-Hamilton Health Sciences: 413 positions, 143 nurses
-Ottawa Hospital: 400 positions, 200+ nurses
-London Health Sciences: 212 nurses
-Queensway Carelton: 160 positions
-Sunnybrook: 100 nurses
-Quinte Health: 59 positions
-Bruyere: 55 positions
-St. Joe's Hamilton: 24 positions
Thank you MPP Watt for standing up for patients.

This lawsuit frames antisemitism as some unique crisis requiring extraordinary legal intervention while it relies on pro-Israel mouthpieces who have literally built their entire careers on conflating legitimate political dissent with hate crimes. You are not neutral, the lawsuit is not neutral and this is not a grassroots response to a crisis.
This is a coordinated legal and surveillance apparatus being deployed against a school board and you should be sick with yourself for being involved with it and pressuring for special status while Indigenous, Black, Muslim, 2SLGBTQ+ people experience higher levels of personal violence and harm. All this lawsuit is about institutional power and political leverage.
Doug Ford blamed students when he cut OSAP grants. He said they'd been abusing the system, but his government's own court records show students were always meant to be a scapegoat.
The Ford government has handed out hundreds of millions of dollars to for-profit career colleges, while failing in basic oversight. Meanwhile, our public institutions and their students are struggling amid chronic underfunding and the callous dismantling of OSAP.
Doug Ford needs to take some responsibility for what he's done to Ontario students. Pointing the finger at them doesn't cut it.

1/ So it’s official. Faced with a choice between whales and oil, our Prime Minister chose oil. Faced with a choice between a safe climate and more fossil fuel expansion, he chose oil again.
Today, Mark Carney announced yet another mammoth oilsands pipeline. #cdnpoli#bcpoli 🧵
Toronto Life just published a deep dive into what’s happening inside the TDSB under provincial supervision.
The Ford government says the problem is overspending.
But as Toronto Life reports, “most experts argue that the TDSB actually suffers from chronic underfunding.”
And what has provincial supervision delivered?
✂️ Hundreds of administrative, teaching and support positions cut.
🚫 Cafeterias and outdoor education programs closed.
❌ Dedicated classes for students with special needs eliminated.
Toronto Life describes the province’s approach as a “DOGE-style slash and burn.”
This is one school board, but the story will sound familiar to teachers, education workers, students, and families across Ontario: fewer staff, fewer supports and fewer resources in schools already being asked to do more with less.

We’ll be sharing more from this important investigation.

Having to pay $3,000 out of pocket for my daughter’s braces while having what the dentist called “really good dental insurance” is exactly why I’ll continue to say this
Dental and vision not being included in health insurance is a scam that doesn’t get talked about nearly enough
Here are the graves.
This Orange Shirt Day we are returning the Brandon Indian Residential School cemetery grounds to the Sioux Valley Dakota Nation on behalf of many First Nations whose children are buried here.
This is one of the most well documented burial grounds at a residential school in Canada with not only church and historical records but also contemporaneous newspaper articles describing what happened to these children.
You can not deny history.

Today we’re welcoming two new voice to Manitoba’s cabinet; one to support first responders and one to improve accessibility.
David Pankratz, a former firefighter and MLA for Waverly will serve as Minister responsible for First Responders Initiatives, which focuses on supporting the people who put their lives on the line to keep us safe, including better mental health and work place supports.
Carla Compton, a registered nurse and MLA for Tuxedo, will serve as Minister responsible for Accessibility, working to make services easier to navigate for Manitobans living with disabilities, their families and caregivers.
Two more strong voices joining the cabinet table for #OneManitoba.
My @TorontoStar column: Brad Bradford and Chris Alexander talk about Toronto's budget like it's some mystery we need outside experts to solve.
But the mayor's spending record is all public, and tells a simple story of priorities. No mystery. Just math. https://t.co/02T2fMK7JA
At #RiverRun2026, thousands sat in silence outside Indigenous Services Canada to honour #GrassyNarrows loved ones who died early from mercury poisoning
@fordnation and @MarkJCarney have the power and responsibility to change what happens next: compensate Grassy Narrows fairly and shut down the Dryden mill
#FreeGrassy #ShutDownDrydenMill
Canada plans to destroy thousands of residential school testimonies in 2027.
These testimonies are the largest body of residential school records in Canada — an irreplaceable body of evidence.

@Safety_Canada we must combat antisemitism in all its forms but the ongoing genocide, war crimes, apartheid and occupation of Palestinian lands are fundamentally based on Zionist reasoning. That is why it is not antisemitic to be anti Zionist.
