The Union Cabinet has approved the Mobile Phone Manufacturing Scheme (MPMS) with a ₹62,500 crore outlay to accelerate mobile phone manufacturing, deepen domestic value addition, strengthen supply chains, and promote design-led innovation.

Electronics is a focus sector across several NICDC Industrial Smart Cities, including:

▪️ #Dholera Special Investment Region (Gujarat) – Emerging semiconductor and electronics manufacturing hub.

▪️ Integrated Industrial Township, Greater Noida (Uttar Pradesh) – Focus on electronics, IT/ITES, engineering and advanced manufacturing.

▪️ #Krishnapatnam Industrial Area (Andhra Pradesh) – Electronics, electrical equipment and precision manufacturing.

▪️ #Kopparthy Industrial Area (Andhra Pradesh) – Electronics and engineering industries.

▪️ Integrated Manufacturing Cluster, #Zaheerabad (Telangana) – Electronics, electrical equipment and advanced manufacturing.

Secretary, DPIIT and CEO & MD, NICDC Visit Novartis Global Capability Centre in Hyderabad

Shri Amardeep Singh Bhatia, Secretary, DPIIT, along with Shri Rajat Kumar Saini, CEO & MD, NICDC, senior officials from NICDC, representatives of Government of Telangana, and a delegation from Telangana Industrial Infrastructure Corporation (TGIIC) visited Novartis India Corporate Centre (NOCC) in Hyderabad today.

The delegation was welcomed by Shri Amitabh Dube, Country President, Novartis India, and senior members of Novartis leadership team.

The visit provided an opportunity to gain insights into the operations of Novartis Global Capability Centre and exchange perspectives on strengthening India’s #GCC and healthcare innovation ecosystem through meaningful government–industry collaboration.

As #NOCC marks 25 years in India, the discussions highlighted its contribution to innovation, technology, research and high-value employment, as well as opportunities for continued collaboration to advance healthcare and create a lasting impact for patients and communities across the country.
