@TTaipoe@UpdatingOnRome@wtffolly_ I don’t see the need to block anyone. Not like Im interested in that guy anyways. How many ppl can you block in the end? And sometimes they are a friend too. Why would I want to block my friends? As long as you made it clear you’re not interested it’s fine to me
Over the past 48 hours, I have seen a massive amount of ignorance from Western commentators and sports fans regarding what happened at Incheon Airport when Hong Myung-bo and the South Korean National Football Team returned from Mexico. After a disastrous performance in the 2026 FIFA World Cup, Korean fans screamed and cursed at coach Hong. On social media, people immediately jumped to conclusions, claiming that "Koreans take the World Cup too seriously," "Koreans are sore losers," or attributing it to a toxic football culture.
All of these takes completely fail to understand the actual context.
The real reason Korean fans are furious is not just about the on-field performance; it is about the deep-seated corruption within the Korea Football Association (KFA) and the highly unethical way Hong Myung-bo was hired in the first place.
The saga began when South Korea parted ways with Jürgen Klinsmann following a disappointing performance in the 2023 Asian Cup. The KFA’s National Team Committee was tasked with vetting competent candidates, narrowing the list down to four major targets. Among them was Jesse Marsch—who ironically just led Canada to the Round of 16 in this very World Cup.
Committee member Park Joo-ho strongly recommended Marsch, but he was completely ignored and actively undermined by older domestic coaches on the committee. Because of internal dysfunction, the KFA fumbled every single quality candidate.
Ultimately, KFA President Chung Mong-gyu and Technical Director Lee Lim-saeng completely bypassed their own selection committee to unilaterally appoint Hong Myung-bo. This process was so unethical that it triggered a South Korean government audit. The audit officially ruled that the KFA had violated its own internal regulations and bypassed proper procedures, sparking ongoing legal, political, and public scrutiny before the World Cup even kicked off.
Because of this backroom dealing, Korean fans had zero confidence in the team heading into the tournament. Despite being placed in a favorable group with a golden opportunity to play a Round of 32 match in Los Angeles—home to the largest Korean population in the United States—the team floundered. Hong Myung-bo’s tactics were archaic, and his leadership was entirely uninspiring, culminating in arguably the biggest failure in South Korea’s World Cup history.
To truly understand the fans' anger, you have to look at what South Korea is going through as a country right now. The nation is experiencing immense societal stress: recent presidential impeachment proceedings, fierce political division, administrative election controversies, the lowest birth rate in the world, intense gender polarization, friction in our historic alliance with the United States, and constant geopolitical tensions with China and North Korea.
For Koreans, the World Cup was supposed to be a rare opportunity to unite, cast aside societal anxiety, and cheer on a beloved national team. Instead, the team’s failure didn't just fail to provide a distraction—it mirrored the exact same institutional corruption and incompetence that citizens are fighting against in daily life.
The anger at Incheon Airport wasn't the reaction of "entitled fans." It was the boiling over of a public exhausted by corruption. Please educate yourself on the context of the situation before jumping to conclusions and judging a fanbase you know nothing about.
@bckupacc99 Bodoh statement ni. Sejak bila melayu tuan rumah bila org Asli ada? Org asli baru lah Tuan rumah tapi tgk kesian diorang. Dan sekarang ni semua org Malaysia je takde Tuan ke x

@Justwandyy Why are you delulu haha just get used to ppl complimenting you then you won’t think everyone who says you’re pretty wants you. Isn’t ppl telling you you’re pretty a normal thing? Won’t you be too busy if you have to say yes to everyone who thinks you’re hot?
The police literally investigated Seungri by stripping away his privacy and seizing his phone to examine all its data—old and new—across his many chats; yet, they NEVER found anything regarding r*pe, and he was NEVER accused of it by the police or any potential vict*m. His >>
ppl not understanding why sk president has to step in not knowing the korean football association is basically a cartel of corrupted old geezers & hong myungbo should have never been hired again in the first place…
Japan VS Brazil first half
damn Sano that goal was beautiful n how confident running across the field n just strike. Honestly I thought you would pass the ball to someone else but what a great choice to just strike it yourself
@mari_mavi5 Tbh Korean team really didn’t pay as well I hoped. They were hesitant too much n not having great teamwork. I agree all good players should be on the field since the beginning. Guesung should be there too since the beginning
