We performed Syracuse's first successful transcatheter mitral valve replacement with leaflet modification in a high/prohibitive surgical risk patient with severe mitral annular calcification causing severe mitral stenosis/regurgitation. The patient is extubated and doing well.

In this contemporary study-level meta-analysis comprising nine studies, @VivekBhatMBBS et al. report no difference in mortality, aspiration, nausea/vomiting, contrast-induced nephropathy, and hypo/hyperglycemia between fasting and non-fasting groups.
