Slavery wasn't condemned in the bible, but kidnapping was. The entire slave trade was predicated on paying Africans to kidnap other Africans for pay. Put that way slavery in America would have looked much different without the sinful importation of kidnapping victims.
@StargateZone Met him once at Gen Con, got his autograph. We spoke about the swords they had for sale and other random stuff because there was no line for his table. Really cool dude.
@BryanHarne20219 I was a teenager and didn't apply myself, quite common for teens. *shrug* I suppose that's why I pushed myself more as an adult. Look, Power Position guy, but sprawling ain't going away because it works. It's called "sprawl and brawl" i.e. Chuck Liddell's strat.
@BryanHarne20219 Backing up is the best idea in many situations. Me? I was an all conference HS wrestler, a state champ Judo black belt, and multi-time TKD state sparring champion. Don't pretend to be the best, & don't intend to measure d*ck sizes. Post engagement bait, you got results, eh?
@roddreher Priest friend in South Carolina one Sunday in summer when the A/C broke: He stood up to preach, mopped his brow and said, "Brothers and Sisters. Fear Hell" and sat down.
@BryanHarne20219 What you're advocating for is like blocking a punch to counter attack, when all else being equal, yes, that's theoretically better, but backing up works really well too...and everybody does it. And no, the timing of sprawling is far more generous than hipping in.
@BryanHarne20219 It's the most taught because it's the most natural. The defenses you're mentioning, while good, require better timing then just backing up/sprawling.
