On this festive quickie of #BetwixtTheSheets I am chatting to /getting the giggles with the marvellous @dr_elesha, who is here to talk to us about Santaphilia & the sexy history of Santa 🎅.

When sex work is defined as violence, sex workers lose the autonomy to distinguish between consensual transactions and genuine harm.
Sex workers must be able to define violence for themselves, and to receive support and justice when they experience this.
#16DaysOfActivism
When I speak to sex workers about what makes women join the industry, the answer often is: the benefit system.
Universal Credit is very low, sanctions are extremely punitive and many migrants can’t access benefits at all.
To protect women, we need real social security for all.
No one should be pushed into sex work by poverty. But that’s the reality for many women in a cost of living crisis.
Criminalisation makes the industry more dangerous and harder to leave.
The solution is to fully decriminalise it + tackle the root causes.
Me on @Channel4News 👇🏽
The number of women contacting the English Collective of Prostitutes for help to deal with the cost of living crisis has spiked more than 30% compared to last year.
70% of those calls and emails were from mothers according to data given to Channel 4 News.
If you feel uncomfortable about Joe Lycett shredding £10,000, that’s exactly the point.
It’s a statement on discomfort and money: at Qatar’s oppression of gay people and David Beckham profiting from them.
It’s performance art. It’s supposed to make you feel. #benderslikeBeckham
📢 We have received the positive news today that the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) have agreed to review parts of their guideline on #endometriosis.

Another article on the campaign which came out this week https://t.co/wgyjyVUL2U explores how the cost of living crisis has affected sex workers' work, and the difficulties workers face in keeping themselves safe:
I said goodbye to a patient a few years ago. She didn’t die, she just got old. I treat patients to age 21 and they move on. When they do, I joke, “well, I did my job! I kept you alive until adulthood!”
With this kid, it was not a joke. 1/
We’re calling for an end to benefit sanctions; access to benefits for all, at a living wage; a moratorium on evictions; rent controls across the whole UK; an amnesty from arrests and fines for sex workers; and the full decriminalisation of sex work.
It’s sobering to see the no-expenses-spared approach in the executive suites @NHSBartsHealth.
Meanwhile, executives cap locum rates, let doctors’ messes fall into disrepair, and claim that taking coffee on the wards is stealing patients’ supplies. https://t.co/WNWD7VoBtq
Coworkers: What did you do this weekend?
Me: Made some Michael Jackson videos with my cat.
Coworkers: Cats cannot perform to a Michael Jackson song?!
My Cat:
Two weeks ago, I had four precious 12-year-old girls, including my daughter, with me at the county fair. They were getting blue Icees and corndogs for the walk to the car and ride home. (1/21)
