🇵🇸🇸🇴 “Somalia stands firmly with the Palestinian people and their legitimate right to self-determination and statehood. We reaffirm our support for a just and lasting peace based on a two-state solution with an independent and viable Palestinian state along with the 1967 borders. A just resolution of the Palestinian question remains essential to the lasting peace and stability in the Middle East and beyond.”
Suraah Al Imran: Leadership is a trust (Amanah) focused on serving the people, upholding justice, and seeking the pleasure of Allah rather than personal power. ~ Sheikh Mustafa

Somalia has become a battleground for proxy wars turning the country into a playground for foreign interests and political power struggles I feel sorry for the Somali people who continue to suffer because of corrupt immoral and irresponsible politicians who put their own interest
“Once a political system has been corrupted, right from the top, from the very top, to the lowest rungs of the bureaucracy, the problem is almost impossible to solve without a revolution. The cleansing and disinfecting has to start from the top and go downwards in a thorough and systematic way. It was a long and laborious process that can be carried out only by a very strong group of leaders with the courage and moral authority derived from unquestioned integrity.”

Barrister and former Prime Minister of Singapore

Somalia in the Trump Era- The Whistle, the Ban, and the Rise of a Generation:
“Having lived and worked among diaspora in the UK for many years, I have watched Somalis build careers, run successful businesses, and take up posts in local councils, hospitals, schools and universities, all while still sending money home to support families and villages. Their resilience is not accidental, but hard-earned, built in refugee camps, and passed down from parents who lost everything once and refused to lose it again. Yet, this same diaspora has been let down again and again by the political leaders back home in Somalia.”

I thank the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for reaffirming Somalia’s longstanding position on the Republic of Cyprus and clarifying that the reckless social-media statement attributed to the individual controversially installed as Speaker does not represent Somalia’s foreign policy.
Somalia cannot demand respect for our sovereignty, unity and territorial integrity while someone illegitimately installed in one of the state’s highest offices legitimises separatism elsewhere.
High office requires legitimacy, competence and institutional discipline. The Ministry may have corrected the diplomatic damage. The political and institutional failure that caused it remains.
Just as talks with Iran were set to resume, Netanyahu launches a strike and declares a state of emergency.
He is provoking a war Americans don't want.
We should not allow ourselves to be dragged into yet another conflict, against our will, by a foreign leader pursuing his own agenda of death and destruction.
Minneapolis is proud to be home to the largest Somali population in the U.S.
Trump’s travel ban is divisive and harmful—punishing millions for no good reason. We stand with our Somali community.
