Pakistan's Supreme Court has upheld the death sentence of Qaiser Ayub, a 49-year-old Christian father of three, accused of insulting Islam's Prophet Muhammad through online posts.
He was accused in 2011 of publishing blasphemous material on a website linked to Qaiser's name.
Qaiser maintains that he had shut down the website in 2009 and that another individual subsequently operated it without his consent.
Attorneys have raised serious concerns about the evidence and intimidation surrounding blasphemy trials, revealing that extremist mobs have threatened judges with death if they refuse to impose capital punishment.
