@LBC So he’s not allowed to play sport because he’s disabled? He must sit alone, confided to a room watching endless repeats of tipping point as he slurps the remnants from his pot noodle? I hope there’s more to this story, because if this is true, this is an utter disgrace.
Here’s a hypothetical for a truly equal secular society, like France’s laïcité: No religious exemptions for weapons or clothing — including hijabs, turbans, or kirpans. Everyone follows the same rules in public institutions.
In the case of Vickrum Digwa (convicted of murdering Henry Nowak), teachers and authorities wouldn’t have been paralysed by fear of “racism” accusations. His turban and ceremonial dagger would have been challenged earlier, given his documented violent history at school — not given a free pass.
The visible markers of religious exemption create a perceived shield: a barrier of “otherness” that can deter scrutiny. Without them, Digwa might have faced proper intervention, behavioural programmes, or weapons removal long before the tragedy. The same pattern appears in cases like Sara Sharif, where cultural and religious sensitivities reportedly delayed action.
My view: special exemptions and the fear they generate undermine equality and public safety. In a neutral secular public sphere, these tragedies become far less likely. Religion shouldn’t grant superiority or impunity in a shared society.
Therefore, the only reasonable course of action is to make the public square truly neutral and end all religious exemption laws — from weapons to symbols to garments.

@HuddlestonNigel@ZiaYusufUK He was under significant stress and said he needed a medical break.
Do you think it’s amusing to poke fun at a man who’s clearly suffering severe stress? How ghoulish of you, Nigel.
#BREAKING: A 17 year old girl was allegedly kidnapped and violently raped by the driver of a ride share after booking a trip through DiDi.
Every parent's worst nightmare.
The predator?
Amarbayasgalan Yondonlodoi, a 50 year
old newly arrived Mongolian national.
This sickening betrayal of trust lies squarely at the feet of Anthony Albanese and Tony Burke.
Their catastrophically weak immigration policies and broken vetting systems failed this child.
In a ruthless pursuit of votes, the Albanese Government opened the floodgates, abandoned proper screening, and let public safety collapse.
They failed to protect our community again.
Enough is enough.
Put Australian safety first.

Imagine thinking this was a one off isolated incident. The cognitive dissonance is real.
All religions have the capacity for violence for they require darkness in order to shine.
I’m with Owen on this one.
Not a fan of the pure blood ethno nationalists.
Ethnicity is an important part of national identity, but it isn’t the only part, or even the most sacred one.
Would you die to protect the children of this country?
That’s enough for me.
All welcome.
Why do Labour need to canvas?
Burnham was the Manchester mayor.
Those credentials speak for themselves.
Meanwhile you have this Kenyon twerp who thinks it’s appropriate to campaign in sports wear, Raikes connections, misleads the public about military service, acts a pro Russian shill and a blatant misogynist.
If you think he has even a slight chance over Burnham you Reform cartoonish sycophants are more delusional than I thought.
Why do you need a huge weapon to show solidarity?
Are we now truly being gaslighted into believing bladed weapons on public streets are safe? I have nothing against Sikhs or any religion; but why is there different rules for one diaspora and different rules for another in secular society?
@TiceRichard Utopian idealism that doesn’t correlate to reality.
People choose the slick spoken suit over the white van plumber every time — why? Human nature and evolutionary psychology.

Kazakhstan Niqab Ban: Over 1,000 Muslim Women Punished For Wearing Niqab
More than 1,000 Muslim women in Kazakhstan have been punished for covering their faces in public places, local media reports citing the Interior Ministry.
Since the law came into force in July 2025, 1,179 Muslim women have been held liable. For a first violation, only a warning is issued.
A repeated violation within one year carries a fine of about $77.
President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev described the Niqab as an “archaic form of clothing imposed on Kazakh women by radicalised neophytes”. He called it “a blatant challenge” to the country’s traditional values.
Female Islamic clothing and men’s beards have long been the focus of government campaigns in Central Asia, where secular governments fear the growing influence of Islam.
@JeevunSandher MP’s duty should be to the Crown. Not your religion.
Every government official or minister should be atheist or completely secular. Why is your religion relevant to me and the legislation of this nation?
France — our neighbour and longstanding ally, ban every ostentatious religious garment or symbol in shared public spheres, schools and government buildings.
This includes but not limited to; kirpans, hijabs, burqas, turbans, kippahs, large crosses.
It’s time Britain adopted laïcitè policy and followed a hybridised framework to keep the public square neutral.
