@arielhelwani I didn’t look at it from this POV. Valid take but also both these guys have some major work in a net positive way for the UFC. Hard to deny them one request as we always do what’s in the best interest of the company. Would be a cool “request/favor” to pay back.
@Jooel21_@funkmasterMMA Sybau. He only got a belt from Yan smashing his face in. He would’ve never touched a belt after cause UFC wouldn’t give him another shot and merab Wouldve got it. Order is restored finally after that knee ..judges robbed Yan. Eat cock
Nah, on my life, this is how I score fights. And it’s because I fight and my experience influences my takes. I think pinging someone up multiple times in a round at at least a 15+ strike difference, should win over a big shot being landed. Unless the shot is near fighting ending. I’ve never changed this opinion- ever. I rather get hit once than take multiple shots to the head. Opinion from experience 👌🏾
Please, elaborate. Which part is silly? Is it silly that everything in RD 3 from Merab is erased for the body kick moment at :45sec mark? Is it silly to think hitting someone repeatedly does “damage” compared to one big shot that doesn’t even put you down? Friends or not, these are valid arguments. But explain
@PandoranChungus It’s starting to become much clearer now that that’s the case. It’s odd because of those little gloves. Tough for volume style fighters over the power punchers
Being swayed bec of the end of theRD is therein the issue. Seems pretty complex yet so simple at the same time. Scoring a round a whole bit just one moment. By your description, it reads nothing in the RD really matters, it’s solely who has the best moment in each RD. That shouldn’t be the case.
And 45 seconds to start sequences is a bit of a reach but ok.
A reasonable take. We assumed 2-2 going into the 5th RD because we were unsure how RD 3 would be scored literally because of the kick and 45 seconds left on the clock compared to 4min Merab was winning the RD. It’s tough. I don’t disagree but it would be nice to have clarity on the criteria. Just saying “damage” wins is so vague
@WhoKnows_85@RedCorner_MMA And that is why I say round 3 is debatable. Not a robbery, but up to debates. MMA ruleset does not mention facial expressions as a scoring criteria as it is misleading. Can't judge a fight based on what face the fighters make.
Merab did really slip victory in the last minute.
@BBJ2420@RedCorner_MMA Watch that round again and please tell if you counted those same numbers from both guys. Lol deadass those stat guys just be doing whatever up there
@Elonov_MMA@Anont41@RedCorner_MMA So clearly there’s confusion where even the fighters don’t know what judges are looking for, no? Output over one moment. What if the moment happened in the beginning of the RD and then everything happened after in RD 3…does the end of the RD change the POV?
It was the last 45 seconds where a few strikes landed. My criticism is damage. Which such a subjective word. Shooting and striking off the break or into entries is considered “nothing” now? And a clean liver shot at 45 sec mark takes the entire RD over a 4-1 output? Thats my point
