@dr_jaja@lufthansa Same thing @lufthansa has done with me . They have canceled the flight and in return they have refunded 30 percent. Is it our fault that flight got canceled due to COVID. Everyone should receive total refund
@lufthansa Thanks Lua! The flight from Frankfurt to Chennai was cancelled, which essentially means the flight is not useable for me. I have emailed customer care but dealing with with partial cancelation as "not cancelled" is disingenuous as my plan was never to fly just to Frankfurt.
Booked tickets to India in 2020 in
@lufthansa, the flight was cancelled -- kept the booking hoping can reschedule but of course things are not very hopeful now. So tried to cancel (via email), and they gave me $72 for a $900 flight, and nobody picks up in customer care?
Excellent piece from @muradbanaji on why it is hard to establish the real metrics for death-count. Unpacks so many variables that contribute to this problem. #mustread

Leadership at scale requires reason and rationality. You cannot believe in head transplants and production of O2 by turbines dividing air and also be able to lead a nation in 2021. Modi is not equipped intellectually. Am not surprised by what he has wrought. This is who he is.
As graveyards run out of space, we cannot pin it on Modi without a critical self-inventory of the role of BJP voters in this tragedy. It is a difficult conversation in a country filled with strife, but it can no longer be avoided.

India’s experience of the pandemic will be defined by its enormous second wave, and will go down as the greatest moral failure of a generation, @VidyaKrishnan writes. https://t.co/KT5BaUPizJ
I cannot even begin to think of the long term effects of growing up in such an environment where citizens think it’s normal to have their every thought / action tracked and policed by the State, with the expectation of obedience and implicit threat of retaliation (end)
Small things can hold a mirror to the culture of a country. I’ve been watching cricket in Chepauk for over 20 years now. Today, they asked my nephew to change his black T-shirt because it can be used as a “symbol of protest” #IndiaBeingSilenced#IndiavsEngland (1/n)
There have of course been egregious overreaches of the State re: #DishaRavi (which we should vehemently protest) but it’s also these small every day stamping out of dissent / discourse that needs to be challenged. (3/n)
@drdevirgilio@SAGES_Updates@dougsmink@JSurgEduc@Jenn_Tseng Did 2 years - was told good enough for surgery but not for specific program. The mental toll (the uncertainty, 2nd class treatment etc.) convinced me to leave clinical medicine - it’s an exploitative system built on the backs of desperate minority applicants (IMGs, POCs etc.)
Marie Diener-West's expert leadership of the MPH program has been tremendous, as has her longstanding dedication to biostatistics education. All of us at @JohnsHopkinsSPH extend our warmest congratulations to Dr. Diener-West on this @AmericanHealth honor! https://t.co/y8yXnqX3Y7
