Will strive for excellence in all work that I do. Will open myself to learning @ all times & will serve with the same passion & empathy to all around me
The feeling of losing my Aunt Dolly is beyond what feels right to share. Our most sacred moments were private and theyโll stay there behind the stage, beneath the glamour & between our hearts.
What I KNOW is Dolly would want me to feel it, write a song about it, and then continue on and be strong. I have an angel by my side. I always have. One of our last conversations was about music and metamorphosis. ๐ฆ
I will always love her and want to make her proud. My heart breaks for the world, her family and friends who will miss her deeply. Weโre in this loss together and we will see her in all of the most beautiful things. ๐ @dollyparton
Simply put, Dolly Parton was an American original. She was an inspiration to millions. She was a relentless advocate for women and for equality. Through her Imagination Library, she placed the gift of reading into the hands of millions of children because she understood literacy is the foundation of opportunity.
But perhaps most importantly, Dolly treated everyone with kindness and respect. She lived her values with a flair and vitality for life that was uniquely her own. She was a trailblazer in every sense of the word, and she will be missed by millions around the world.
Jill and I are keeping her family, her friends, and her millions of fans in our prayers.
God bless Dolly Parton.
Remembering the late, great Dolly, who brought joy, comfort and inspiration to so many - including the millions of children given free books through her Imagination Library. We will always โค๏ธ you.
I actually enjoy working with โdifficultโ people. Clear boundaries. Very professional. No crossing of lines. No โfavoursโ. Just the right thing, the right way, professionally, with correct timings
The colleague once warned that if I led by principle, opposing sides would one day unite to oust me, and I would have to โeat my principles.โ
He was right. Today I am eating them and they taste remarkably good.
I sleep peacefully. I am off the depression & anxiety medication. I choose what I do, who I work with, where and when. Things have worked out.
I remain grateful to God for the strength and the boldness. Principles may exact a price, but they also deliver a freedom that politics never can.

President Biden greeted by Denzel Washington & Jake Gyllenhaal at the Broadway opening of Othello.
Biden received a standing ovation.
So deserved. โค๏ธ
Sacrifices were made. Millions gave their time, their freedom, their livelihoods and, in far too many cases, their lives for the liberation of our people.
Yet some have chosen to soil that proud legacy through a self-centred mentality of โme first, and to hell with everyone else.โ
Today, the very movement built through the courage and sacrifices of millions of activists is being discredited by a new breed of leaders who have chosen the pursuit of personal wealth, privilege and comfort while millions of the people whose sacrifices made freedom possible continue to live in poverty, hunger and unemployment.
That was never the purpose of the struggle. The sacrifices of generations were not made so that a few could become rich while the majority continue to starve.
Not a chance, her work as Health Minister from 1994 to 1999, is why restaurants have smoking areas and there's no Tobacco advertising on TV. She's contributed a lot.
@TyaliSiya It's rooted in ancient spiritual beliefs. People explained the pattern through ancestral knowledge, not psychology or genetics. What I was pointing out is that both modern research and traditional spiritual beliefs recognise the same pattern. They just explain it differently.
I think America just broke the record for the largest fireworks display in history!
It went on for 40 minutes and I want to see the budget for this ๐คฏ
Could African genetic data transform how medicines are prescribed?
A Wits-led policy brief reveals that more than 10% of essential medicines may require pharmacogenomic guidance to ensure safer, more effective treatment for African patients.
By integrating Africa's rich genomic diversity into drug policies and prescribing practices, healthcare systems can reduce adverse drug reactions, improve patient outcomes, and strengthen medicine regulation across the continent.

I felt a deep pain and sadness to hear Tumelo Nku saying that when he first interacted with Chief Mashaba and did some of the "favours" or "providing intel", and he said in Sesotho, when he was introduced to Former Minister of Defense, the late Kebby Maphatsoe, by Chief Mashaba, they had said "o tla mo thusa ka ntho tse tsa hao", meaning, "you'll help him with these skills of yours". He says at the time, he had been hoping for future benefits for his company, his business. I guess he wished and hoped for patronage along the way from having "government connections".
You know, I tell young people all the time, that be careful whose money you take. Do not take dirty money, no matter how desperate or ambitious you are, you will pay dearly one day. We know these things, we are not wealthy today, and we could have been if we wanted to, but we avoided those temptations, and we are able to sleep peacefully at night, knowing that I never sold my soul to anyone, nor will I be called to testify at any Commission, or hear my name being mentioned in some investigation.
I look at Tumelo, and though I can't guess exactly how old is he, he looks like he could be young enough to be my son. I have a daughter, she's a niece, but she's my daughter, she calls me Mama. She is in the same field as Tumelo, probably with the same "skills set" as he calls it, ๐ ICT Specialist, Systems, Software Developer etc. She works for government. I tell her always, I preach to her "please please, I beg you my child, no matter what, don't you ever. This whole notion of saying "in this Economy you got to do what you got to do", to justify falling into traps of corrupt tenders, taking wrong monies, some of which you will find out later that it's blood money or drugs money, avoid it by all means, ke a o kopa. I don't want to see you one day testifying at some Commission or being arrested."
I feel sorry for Tumelo's parents, his Mother. I imagine the sadness Commissioner Baloyi and Chair could be feeling as elders with children that age or slightly older, having to sit there and watch a young life, once innocent, introduced to greed and corruption by Comrades, and sacrificed and destroyed in the process. It is so sad. ๐ฅ๐

Congratulations to the cast and crew of #ThePolygamist on the success of this local production.
As I have shared with members of the NCOP today during the Tourism Department Budget Vote; film and television are no longer merely cultural products they are powerful tourism assets.
