Just graduated from emergency medicine residency.
It still feels strange to write that. When I chose Baylor Scott & White in Temple, I knew I was choosing the harder path.
And it was. Residency was one of the hardest things I have ever done. It tested me, stretched me, and changed me. But it was also one of the best decisions I have ever made. This belt buckle is the most important diploma I have.
I am so grateful for the patients, faculty, nurses, staff, and co-residents who shaped me along the way. I want to especially thank my co-chiefs that I really leaned on in the last year. And thankful for my wife who put up with me. I am thankful I had the chance to serve as chief resident, and I am incredibly honored to have received the Excellence in Teaching Award.
I am sad this chapter is over, but I am also excited for what comes next. I will always be proud that I trained here, and I will always be grateful for the people who made this place home.
33yo M w/2 hrs of CP; computer and AI called it normal. But good old-fashioned HI (human intelligence) called it positive. Kudos to Dr. Mohammad Assiri, dx'd South African Flag sign, 100% D1 blockage, life saved! #foamed
My first study is out on a new device I created. Trial study is being written and should come out later this year, Woohoo! #airway#medicine
