The Dept of OH, AIIH&PH visited the Kolaghat Thermal Power Station, WBPCDL for a one day training program on 'Basics of Occupational Health and Safety'. Dr. M. Sahu,Ass. Prof and HOD of OH took session on 'Occupational Hazards Present in Thermal Power Plants' .

The Department of OH, AIIHPH, had conducted a four month internship course for two https://t.co/37FCS349dp students from RKMVERI, Narendrapur where they were trained in various theoretical and practical aspects of Occupational Health.

The thesis topics pursued by them included HRIs (Heat Related Illnesses) and NIHL( Noise Induced Hearing Loss). The internship program was concluded by handing over of completion certificates by our eminent director, Dr. Ranjan Das and HOD of OH, Dr. M.Sahu.

Day 4 of the Capacity Building Programme on Public Health Emergency Management for District Health Officers started with an educative and engaging sessions on Hospital Preparedness and Response during Disasters, Surge Capacity and its planning.

The sessions continued on topics of Fatality Management, National Medical Emergency Team, and Management of Psychosocial Issues. The ending was packed up by NDRF Team after performing Mock Drills for CBRN.

The Community Based Participatory Action Research (CBPAR) Preconference Workshop (part of WB IAPSMCON 2024) was held at UHUTC, Chetla. It helped to gain hands on knowledge and insights. Techniques like Venn Diagram, Time trend, Community Maps, Fish bone diagram.

During his visit,Dr. Pingle conducted enlightening sessions on BOHS (Basic Occupational Health Services)and Career Opportunities in Occupational Health for MD PSM and MD MPH (Epidemiology)students.His insights provided valuable guidance to the budding professionals in this field.
