In my new article "Black Lives Matter and the Politics of Redemption" at Philosophy & Social Criticism, I explore the practical political theory of the #BLM movement https://t.co/d44InNcWe6
Hey friends, long time no talk.
I’ve started a Substack. It's a daily blog exploring society, culture, relationships, music, and some of the philosophy behind them all. I hope you check it out, and maybe give it a follow.

Life got in the way of my end of year lists last year, for the first time in two decades of music blogging. But we're back this year, starting with albums

(btw: you can follow me on the other site where I still tweet very irregularly)
In ‘our bodies, our choices’, Charles Olney argues for reproductive justice by exploring the social aspect of embodiment in the context of abortion and refusing overly simplistic terms.

Breaking my Twitter hiatus for a quick article retweet.
I wrote the first draft of this article my first year of grad school. George Bush was the president and Single Ladies was the #1 song in America. Many (many many) revisions later, it's out in the world.

@lawson_sv ! I logged into TxwXiXtXer for the first time in a million years because I wanted to see you do some snarky tweets about Germany! Please do some snarky tweets about Germany!

Absolutely bizarre for a social media site which depends entirely on network effects to be gatekept by invite codes. But anyway, I got one, so I'm over at the other place under @ olneyce. Probably won't use it much, but who knows.
@djw172 I'm nervous about reducing religious experiences to simply being matters of 'conscience' in the general sense. But I'm not sure how significant that would be in terms of legal protections or accommodations. Probably pretty insignificant. (I clicked <10%)
Logging back in briefly to say that I'll be spending this year at @EmoryPolisci as a VAP.
Sorry to say goodbye to my wonderful students and colleagues at UTRGV, but very excited for the future.
