We are continuing to pull out all the stops to stabilize primary care and ensure Albertans have access to the care they need, where and when they need it.

It’s a shame the NDP is referencing data from 2022.

According to the CPSA, Alberta added over 500 new doctors since March 2023, 215 of these are family doctors.

A recent survey from the Commonwealth Fund also showed that at 94 per cent, Alberta has the highest percentage in Canada for patient access to a regular physician or a regular clinic to receive care.

We know there’s more that needs to be done to attract and retain family physicians, and the compensation model framework I announced earlier today will do just that.
