On the occasion of “World Down Syndrome Day”, Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, VMMC & Safdarjung Hospital conducted a highly successful public forum in the Gynae OPD to observe World Down Syndrome Day in the presence of Director Dr Kavita Sharma , MS Dr Charu Bamba, Addl MS Dr Tilakraj, HOD Dr Bindu Bajaj, Fetal Medicine faculty Dr Sumitra Bachani and other senior faculty.
The event focused on empowering expectant parents and families with knowledge regarding prenatal screening & specialized care required for children with Down Syndrome.

A 6-year-old boy, the son of a street hawker, was suffering from Giant Hydronephrosis, a rare and debilitating condition. His family, struggling to make ends meet, could not afford the necessary treatment.

Thanks to the exceptional team at @SJHDELHI, #Delhi, the young boy has successfully undergone the right nephrectomy. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Anup Kumar and his dedicated team for their outstanding care and expertise. We are also immensely grateful to @dr_pankaj05 for his unwavering support and guidance, ensuring the boy received timely and effective treatment.
