1. The CAS has been sent to Cuba with a top psychiatrist Dr. P. O.We know the CAS is behind the frustrations of the doctors.
If we really think things are okey in Cuba, why did we send a psychiatrist ?

Stipend of USD 1,440 is based on 2004 guideline. That's 15 years ago. Remember Havana is an expensive city.

2. The family medicine course from Cuba is not internationally recognized, yet we are busy sending our fellow Kenyans to undertake a scam course ?
3. Why cant they transfer credits and come back and complete there course here in Kenya ?

Q3. Criteria for their identification.
While some volunteered to go for the govt scholarship some of the doctors were coerced into the program.
At Kenya School of Government they were forced to sign documents which were later confiscated.

They dont have a medical cover meaning if one is sick you have to use your meagre USD 360 to pay for your medical expenses.
I wont delve much on what the Cubans in Kenya are enjoying.

Q2. Remuneration.
It is true that 20% of their salary should be deducted due to foreign study. Hence their monthly salary payable is 80%. A reduction in pay.
They are entitled to USD 1440. They have been receiving USD 360.

Annex 1 was meant to be the Memorandum of Understanding between the Cuban and Kenyan government.
It's unfortunate that the document is still classified as highly confidential yet its involved the issues surrounding our doctors.

The Kenyan Government lured 50 Kenyan Doctors from 47 Counties to a promise of training in Cuba that didn't come to be.

The result has been a very frustrating ordeal for the doctors but leaves one family in permanent sorrow and mourning.
