@northwoods1980 At the initial visit, it’s always beneficial to see the parameters of stability under fluoro. But if reduced on CT and x-rays. I would plan for non-op management with close observation. Could even start a range of motion Hotchkiss protocol at 7 to 10 days.

Caliber size and firearm matters. Same goes the degree of “loss of sensation”. My partners and I have a series of these (level 5 evidence) of hand gun injuries. I avoid disrupting the hematoma and opening. Been able to place IMN and be successful

@JHandSurg This is not the question. What are the clinical outcomes? Soft tissue stripping, ROM, rate of union and complications are. More screws and more plates will always increase instability
