If you're near Great Ayton tomorrow afternoon and with some time to kill, why not come and listen to Vox Choir North East? There might even be a solo from yours truly! https://t.co/PYGWwPOhJ6
@HareshManyarLab@IChemE@QUBCCE@QubEps Was looking forward to this but unfortunately the hybrid option seems to have hit a snag! Hope it goes well in person.
Great to be on the panel for this morning's @TeesUniSLAR #LTExChange symposium, talking about the #edi enhancements we're making in @TeesUniSCEDT Engineering curricula.
@alrightPET@SuperScienceGrl And this is my problem with the whole thing - Miss, Mrs and Ms all make assumptions about an individual's marital / motherhood status...neither of which has any bearing on their professional standing. Agreed, Miss is awful.
@SuperScienceGrl@alrightPET At conferences maybe, but not in general (at least in my experience). Even with my quals I get the dreaded "Dr Miss" π€’. Personally I'd prefer if professional titles were the only titles used.
@SuperScienceGrl@alrightPET Maybe 'consensus' wasn't the right word, what I meant was an established way to assign titles that don't alienate / insult. I use the same titles as @alrightPET, for the same reasons... but it bothers me that female and non-binary colleagues without a PhD don't have that choice.
A simple classroom task rooted in the psychology of interpersonal relationships that anyone can use to help students bond and feel more comfortable with group work

Really enjoyed presenting our approach to teaching sustainability in engineering at @TeesUniSCEDT at #isee22! And great to hear what's happening at other institutions on the same topic.
