Korean Variety/Reality Shows

[Draco J. Chen @draco_zhu]

This will give many female viewers an illusion that their marriage will be as happy and perfect as various shows. But the reality is different. Traditional ideas surround South Korea. A patriarchal society has always dominated South Korea's mainstream culture.

[Draco J. Chen @draco_zhu]

For example, the variety show "Dad, where are we going?" hopes to use stars' publicity effect to reduce the fear of marriage among Unmarried Women in South Korea because this variety show is full of father's love.

[Draco J. Chen @draco_zhu]

However, many audiences think that this is the essence of stars, leading to many misunderstandings. Simultaneously, in many variety shows, TV stations will deliberately show the best side of life and erase all the negative things.

[Draco J. Chen @draco_zhu]

So what you see on many variety shows and reality shows is a script that has been prepared in advance, and stars have to follow the script and perform. Most of the time, the audience sees the sensational moves deliberately created by the program camera team.

South Koreans believe that the world is either male or female, and even those who identify with homosexuality are members of the gay community. Many people misunderstand homosexuality is just like heterosexuality.

[Draco J. Chen @draco_zhu]

In South Korean society, LGBT minorities often overlook that the moral level of LGBT is higher than that of heterosexuals to be recognized by the public. This kind of love can be Platonic pure spiritual love.

[Draco J. Chen @draco_zhu]

In Korea, when it comes to homosexuality, people tend to think of gay men. Many LGBT rights are just for gay men, but there are still many misunderstandings about lesbians. South Korea is deeply influenced by Confucianism, which has a profound influence on gender polarization.
