At the risk of highlighting how bad 2026 has been, I recently passed 250k career points 🥳!
Forever grateful to Glenn Maxwell for his World Cup exploits, chickening out of picking George Drissell in the One Day Cup still haunts me ⚪️😱!
Whilst they do have other players that can bowl, unlike a lot of teams that have as many as 8/9 full-time bowling options, Hampshire are very clearly set up to back 5 bowlers to each bowl 4 overs. That goes against the grain somewhat and is worth noting from a CD perspective!
As good as Tristan Stubbs is, given his history of batting at 5/6, there’s a very obvious risk in picking him. Today, that risk proved… too risky ⚪️🤦♂️🤷🏼♂️!
Chris Lynn now has 65 50+ scores in T20 cricket. He has a decent List A record and possibly surprisingly good First Class numbers. It seems somewhat of an anomaly that he will likely retire without a half-century in international cricket ⚪️🇦🇺!
There’s a lot of quality in Scotland Women’s squad (Carter, Chatterji & the Bryce sisters etc.) but Gabriella Fontenla looks like she’ll make the team even stronger. Some encouraging away swing in her first over today ⚪️🏴!
Back-to-back List A hundreds for Khalid Taniwal in Afghanistan’s One Day Competition. He also has a T20 century, having performed consistently well since entering the professional game!
He’s yet to debut in First Class cricket but is definitely a player to keep an eye on 🇦🇫👀!
The top four six-hitters in the Men’s T20 Blast so far this season… are all wicketkeepers 🧤:
Aneurin Donald - 13
Michael Pepper - 8
Tom Moores - 8
John Simpson - 8
⚪️🧤🎆
Having started both Blasts reasonably well, my captaincy calls since have cost me dear!
With a few DGW or 0GW teams over the next week or two, I wouldn’t say that I require a complete reset… but do need some fine tuning!
