Once upon a time I lived in my corner of the internet peaceful
I stuck to my weeb posting, but suddenly the bullies that hated anime came into the fandom to drag me into the mud
My anime was dragged into culture wars
Which truthfully radicalized me to stop being passive.
@golden400k@ShitpostRock2 Ur acting like u never used ChatGPT before wtf. It took info from multiple sources, both pre-conceived data plus live web searches and form objective conclusion on the topic altogether. Also yes ik what im talking about since i've been watching anime for more than half of my life
@golden400k@ShitpostRock2 It CAN be sexualised, but that doesn't mean ALL of them are sexualised. I dun know why it's so hard for u to understand that lol. Here are basic explanations from ChatGPT.
@golden400k@ShitpostRock2 Ok that explains a lot. Well it's up to u to understand my points or not cuz i bet its harder for u since u never consumed the media themselves. This is what normies have been misrepresenting anime since ages ago and exactly why people are calling them tourists and stuff.
@golden400k@ShitpostRock2 Everyone would think its ridiculous of u to say that but fine i guess cuz u have no frame of reference to compare to. From the way ur speaking, u dun seem much familiar with anime. Are u a newbie, casual, or veteran fan, if i may ask? Ur answer will help explain a lot haha...
@golden400k@ShitpostRock2 Not necessarily, loli is a fictional character design & stereotype. Sexualisation has nothing to do with it. Both adult, teens, or even younger can be a loli if its purposely designed that way. For example, Kanna from Dragon Maid is a loli, but she's never sexualised in the show.
@kangminlee The first half is definitely really great, but the second half might be what stopped u from continuing in the past because of the narrative shift to focus more on the drama aspect of the show instead of the more interesting psychological trauma redemption shown in the first half.
In an attempt to repair a corrupted world into a more ideal and virtuous one, these people did the opposite and has done more damage than good for throwing random claims and accusations at other subjects without substantial thoughts behind it. A very ironic situation indeed...
The internet has allowed many people to engage and say atrocious shit without any social repercussions unlike irl. Being called Nazi means nothing now - the same goes for racist, sexist, fascist, including the word "pedo", which is starting to be watered down in online spaces.
Is it just trendy to call people pedophiles now?
Left: Rikku in Final Fantasy X (2001)
Canonically 15 years old, midriff-baring outfit, short shorts — classic JRPG fanservice.
Nobody lost their minds or screamed “pedo bait.”
Right: Evie in Stellar Blade: Blood Rain (just announced)
Clearly adult woman, athletic build.
Instant reaction from the usual activists: “pedo bait.”
Same audience. Similar stylized designs.
Only difference?
It’s suddenly fashionable to accuse anyone who likes attractive female characters of being a pedophile.
Why do these activists do this? Is it genuine concern… or just clout-chasing and a way to shame straight male fans?
What do you think?
