If I could go back in time and sit beside my 20-year-old self, this is what I’d whisper…

“Please… diversify your portfolio.”

Don’t put all your hope in one paycheck. One salary has never made anyone truly free.

Create multiple streams of income. Let your money work while you sleep, because one day, your energy won’t be enough.

Learn the magic of compound interest early. Time is the one thing you can never earn back, and every year you wait is a year your money could have been quietly growing.

Track every naira.

Because the money you don’t track has a way of disappearing. Every naira without a purpose is working against the future you’re trying so hard to build.

Don’t just spend. Own.

Buy land. Buy shares. Buy Bitcoin. Buy Ethereum. Own assets that have the potential to outlive your salary.

And please…

Save.

But don’t just let your savings sit there losing value while inflation eats away at your future.

Save in stronger currencies. Earn yield on your USDC. Let your savings grow while you’re building your dreams.

No one tells you this when you’re 20.

They tell you to work hard.

What they don’t tell you is that working hard without investing is like pouring water into a leaking bucket.

The truth is, wealth isn’t built in one big moment. It’s built in the quiet decisions no one applauds.

The ₦5,000 you decided to invest instead of spend. The land you bought before everyone else noticed the area. The habit of saving when you had every excuse not to.

If I could speak to the younger version of myself, I wouldn’t tell her to chase money.

I’d tell her to buy freedom.

Because one day, she’ll wake up and realize that the greatest luxury isn’t having more money…

It’s having choices.

And choices are bought years before they’re needed.

Honestly, this would be one of the biggest milestones of my journey.

I'm hosting my very first Tech & Careers event this year.

For the two years, I've consistently hosted free career and tech Spaces every Wednesday. We've talked about remote jobs, CVs, freelancing, marketing, networking, and everything people need to build better careers we have changed thousands of lives.

Now it's time to bring those conversations into the real world.

Before the end of the year, we'll be meeting in Lagos, most likely on the mainland, for a much more personal experience. I don't want this to feel like a traditional conference.

I want it to feel like a live podcast where we have real conversations about careers, money, opportunities, and what it actually takes to change your life.

If you're trying to break into tech, looking for your first job, thinking about switching careers, or simply want to connect with ambitious people, this event is for you.

Attendance will be limited and will most likely be paid to cover venue and production costs.

I've also had a lot of people reach out to volunteer already, and I truly appreciate it. We'll share more details on that soon.
