“You didn’t have to, thanks.”
〘 She was intimidated, then sitting down at the table, signalling him to come closer. 〙
“Come here, Will. Sit down.”
〘 Her tone of voice was sweet, she rested her elbow on the table, resting her hand on her cheek. She wanted to talk. 〙
he smiles, "i uh .. damn near bought the entire menu."
out of sheer guilt and .. well, he too was starving after having barely eaten the entire day.
save for the cold cup of coffee he had with her earlier in the day.
he .. wasn't so sure about that, but truthfully it wasn't his place.
"thank you for coming, alana." the bag is taken up from the floor, and taken to the pathetic excuse of a kitchen space and separated.
〘 As soon as she saw his dogs he approached, stroking Winston on his head, nodding at his words. 〙
“Everything will be for the best, I’m sure.”
〘 She turned to him, taking off her jacket afterwards. 〙
once the door is unlocked, he pushes it open for her, encouraging her to step through before himself.
he gently tells the dogs to back up and sit, but of course as soon as they see it's alana, they immediately calm themselves.
"i'm concerned regarding a few .. trainees —
“ I know. ”
〘 She gave him a tired smile, nodding, following him inside the house when he opened the door. She decided not to tell him anything, to let it flow, pretending that she hadn’t been hurt. 〙
“ How did the lesson go? ”
he arrives moments after she does, and he catches up to her as she's on his porch, her knuckles rapping against his door.
his dogs are making their curiosity known with their barking and hollering, as he can hear them from his car as he shuts the door, bag of food in one —
“Don’t worry, Will. I hope you’re well.”
〘 She was sitting on the chair in her living room, she got up as soon as she heard his voice, nodding slowly with his head. 〙
“I’m coming over.”
〘 She ended the call, getting into the car after taking his jacket. 〙—
"Alana— hey, fuck I'm so sorry.. " He carried no excuse. He had messed up, allowing time to get away from him as he did.
He swallows hard as he's up from his seat, collecting his coat, as well as his bag.
"Hey .. so forget the diner, meet me at my place —
〘 Alana had remained seated in her car after about two hours had passed since she had arrived. She had a lost look, but she wasn’t angry — she was sad about Will’s condition. She wanted to help him, but it was impossible to help someone who doesn’t want to be helped. 〙—
He had awoken in his office far later than he had anticipated. Whether from an accidental rest or an extensive dissociative state.
The clock had read well past 11pm, but that didn't stop him from reaching out immediately, ringing her as soon as he was cognitive —
✶ @M4KE4WIK :
〘 She had just finished her lesson, she was walking in the hallway until she decided to change her way, wanting to salute Will and to see how he was doing. Alana wanted him to be well and not to be alone. She wanted to be there for him. 〙
“…Will?”
@OFLOST_CAUSE 〘 It was a quiet area, much quieter than the one where she lived. Cars rarely passed, and she could imagine the tranquility that hovered around Will’s house. Who knows what he was doing, at that exact moment. Maybe he had forgotten. 〙
✶ @OFLOST_CAUSE :
〘 As they had arranged before, Alana had just parked the car outside the diner. She closed it, put the keys in the pocket of her jacket and waited for Will’s arrival, observing the place around her. 〙—
