@DanielGenealogy A childless auntie in my family preserved so many documents from the Civil War era, without her so much would have been lost. And I'm a child-free auntie too, doing all my family's history keeping, so maybe I'm biased... LOL

@DanielGenealogy I think ancestors who don't have children tend to get glossed over in ancestry research - so when I find those folks in my tree I try to find out as much as I can about them. Harder the further back in time you go, but ultimately worth it IMHO ;-)

Hello #AncestryHour! I'm in America researching my Irish family and found some burial records for Dublin. Would like high-res gravestone photos but can't find any online. Any tips on finding a trustworthy person/company to hire to go take photos for me?

@Ryan_Genealogy 2 are in Deansgrange - their website is excellent and has the burial record books but no headstone photos (yet). There's another possible family member in Mount Jerome but they don't seem to be managed by a county council.

@DanielGenealogy It's been a while but thought I'd report back that I found baptismal records showing that my g-grands were first cousins one time removed. G-gpa's father and G-gma's grandfather were brothers! Maybe someday I'll find the papal dispensation, but for now, this proof is enough!

There's always been a family tale that 1. my G-Grands were 2nd cousins and 2. needed a Papal dispensation to get married in 1922. Finally proved the 1st part, now trying to find out about the 2nd. Any tips?@DanielGenealogy #IrishGenealogy #irishfamilyhistory
