Quick #teachertip for any new online classrooms out there... I signed up as a student in my own class. IMO better than just previewing a page; this kid has a backstory, makes mistakes, and does the assignments. #teachertech#designEd#processEd#innovatEd
Day 89 of “90 Days of Innovations” (SEE my IG feed). PD session by @drspfeiffer lends a lens to examine the course design: Is it only relevant to #giftedEd, is it deeper or broader? Does it work for ALL gifted? or All? or AT ALL? #designEd#innovatEd#makerEd#sketchnotes
@misterwashburn@mraspinall I realized my makerspace only worked when kids told me what the expectations were, not the other way around. The stdnts leave room for pivots and adjustments and that drive the innovative process not the reward incentives #imho
“we ought never let evaluation drive instruction” @mraspinall but UBD (inst/des) calls for it b/c it’s a reality of the infrastructure we teach in. I’ll show you how I reconciled the conflict in my session at 10:15 #erlcedtech

edtech cross pollination:
1) peruse google images to find an appropriate model to sketch
2) draw on techniques observed having watched… https://t.co/pJatgk3rBr
Well, thank Zarquod that’s over and done with... #shawacademy 😓 Now to use the experience to build the Distance Learning Narrative #ETAD2018#GradLife https://t.co/amPdZdnkmb
@heatfishie I found myself resting in this paper -- Weisberg, Deena Skolnick et al. (2013). Guided Play: Where Curricular Goals Meet a Playful Pedagogy. Mind, Brain, and Education, 7(2), 104-112. (DM me a gmail account and I'll share)
@JackieGroat @Amber_Hartwell @UCalgaryEduc@UCalgary I have grown fond of substituting all technology scenarios with the #pencilchat and playing out policy that way. I wonder if “effective-use” or “affective-use” policies might also allow stdns to fail-forward?
