Say, โThe enjoyment of this world is little, and the Hereafter is better for he who fears God.โ You will be wronged even by a thread.

I interviewed a health care leader who says we need to stop hiding behind strength and start leading with our scars.
Dana Y. Lujan has faced the kind of loss that strips away your identity. First, she lost her spouse. Then, years later, she lost her only child.
In the military, Dana learned to "suck it up and drive on." She mastered the art of compartmentalizationโpaying the bills, caring for in-laws, and performing at work while falling apart behind closed doors. But when her son died, the armor didn't just crack; it shattered.
She told me that true leadership isn't about being stoic. It is about vulnerability.
Dana shared how this profound grief transformed her approach to management. Before, she was efficient but rushed, often perceived as "intense" because she was holding it all in. Now, she looks for the pauses in conversation. She asks for help. She leads with an empathy that can only come from deep personal pain.
Her advice to every physician and executive walking a similar path is powerful:
"You don't grow where you are comfortable. You grow when you decide to face what hurts, sit in it, and still believe something better is coming."
If you are grieving today, know that your vulnerability is not a weakness in your leadership. It is the bridge that connects you to your team.
