Hello Canberra, I am coming to the @cbrwritersfest to host a panel with @yodaberg and @NeelaJan in which we will talk medical misogyny, miscarriage and the ways our health system silences women. Join us, it's going to be fun. https://t.co/gjeK9jZ7Cs

So much smearing & belittling of consultants in the press, but this, from today’s @thetimes letters page, could not have put it more beautifully.
Pls RT if you agree.

@nathan_warner Steph worked w us for a locum while her Canadian stuff was pending - she’s a fabulous gp and I am astonished that Canada was willing to let her sit in limbo and not work for so long!!
When I can’t get a bed for teenagers dying with anorexia & a patient with psychosis becomes homeless and seriously ill with malnutrition because his psychotic episodes were not managed with assertive outreach, don’t tell me we should invest in an app. https://t.co/6UFsmJWvR8
Seeking asylum is a human right.
It’s actually a legal right
Enshrined in the Refugee Convention.
A convention every single western country is a signatory too.
You know the same ones whose governments call people seeking asylum “illegals.”
What’s illegal is their policies
@jtrebach I tried this and went to work, saw 20 patients, then it got worse and I had my appendix out. To be fair I didn’t try the “waffle test” though / maybe that woulda done the trick!
@GPswampwarrior There is no way to quantify the value of the longitudinal relationship, and yet we know that it is one of the things that makes the most difference to the patient experience and often is therapeutic in itself. Thank you for your endless work in the swamp!
Beautifully said. Children should see the breadth of human experience and expression from a safe standpoint to learn about the world they live in, and potentially to learn more about themselves
"Drag queen story time opens kids' eyes to a world that is diverse and reflective of reality. It offers queer kids an opportunity to see themselves. If queer kids don't see themselves represented in this world, how can they envision a future with them in it?" - @ReubenKaye#QandA
@oneplanetmikey Also extremely distressing if you happen to be cuddling or feeding a baby and the person in front reclines their seat into baby’s head!!
@coopesdetat Suggests strongly that astronauts also disapprove of eating broccoli so subtly toss it out of their orbiting spacecraft rather than eat it right??
